It’s been over a year since Austrian singer Conchita Wurst became the (drag) queen of Europe with her iconic Bond ballad “Rise Like a Phoenix”. Nevertheless, the song appears to be ‘unstoppable’ and has recently risen from the ashes… this time wearing sparkly pink hot-pants.

Spanish DJ Carlos Gallardo has released a remix perfect for the Euroclub. Tenna Torres provides vocals, giving us a less dramatic performance than Conchita, instead contributing a sweeter euro-pop sound. Electronic synths and modern disco beats serve a whole new side to the song, which originally focused on rejection and repression. Well, there’s always room for a new Eurovision classic on the party playlist!

I love a good remix & I love Rise Like a Phoenix. Unfortunately this sounds just like a generic remix. Nothing inspired here.

That’s awful. And since they actually sell this, I hope the people who wrote “Rise like a Phoenix” at least get their share of the money.
