Maria Elena Kyriakou, the Greek participant at Eurovision 2015, wasn’t on her last breath in Vienna. The MEK continues to shine like her sequined jump suit and has been chosen to sing “Horis Esena”, the soundtrack to a brand new Cypriot TV Series.
Hoping to court new viewers, producers handed power to the people to choose who would sing the song. Last week the Cypriot broadcaster revealed two versions of the song: one sung by Maria Elena and another sung by another artist. The public voted six out of every 10 listeners chose Miss Kyriakou. That’s a clear win.
This may be Maria Elena’s swansong. Kyriakou recently decided to leave singing behind and revealed on Instagram that she will open a learning center, where children can get extra help after school. After all, teaching is her second love and it melts our hearts (even if leaving singing behind breaks them a little bit too).
So what do you think? Are you loving the song? Comments below!
