Russia — the pop powerhouse that has never placed outside of the Top 10 at Junior Eurovision — will pick their act for 2015 on September 25 (a.k.a next Friday). The nationally televised selection show kicks off at 21:00 local time (that’s 20:00 CET) on the kids channel Karusel. Call your babsuhki and get ready to enjoy one of JESC’s biggest and most exciting national finals.

The jury and online voters will have an equal say. Unlike the jury, who will cast their votes on the night of the contest, the online voters will be able to vote on Karusel’s website prior the contest. Let’s just hope they are voting based on live, unaltered performances rather than some digitally re-mastered videos.

Aliza Kozhikina returns to Junior?

The lucky contestants who will fight for a ticket to Sofia will be unveiled next Monday, September 21. And while Karusel is keeping the acts under wraps, one artist has already confirmed a song submission  and it’s none other than Alisa Kozhikina!

The tiny 12-year-old represented Russia in Malta last year with the dreamy ballad “Dreamer“. But this year she is serving a little bit of kids funk with “Stala Silneye”.

You’ll recall that Russia doesn’t shy away from sending repeat performers. Ekaterina Ryabova represented Russia in both 2009 and 2011, and Lerika sang for Russia in 2012, having sung for Moldova just one year earlier.

Listening to it another time I retract my repedative comment. This would be a great entry for them

As far as the song goes, Stala Silneye feels repedative but still great. Not a bad choice at all if she represents again.

Is quite hard to be out of the top 10 in recent years, because only around 12 or 14 countries compete.

Alisa Kohzikina should win. Her song is fresh and catchy.

They have never placed outside the top 10 because it’s Russia, and all ex-soviet countries will inevitably vote for them, no matter if the song is rubbish.
