Portugal held their very own Eurovision party last weekend in Setúbal, as part of the Eurovision Live Concert 2015. As in recent years, lots of artists performed, including both Eurovision stars and Festival da Canção delights. wiwiblogger Deban caught up with Carla Ribeiro, who took part in Portugal’s national selection in 2011 and 2014, and served as a backing vocalist for Filipa Souza (2012) and Leonor Andrade (2015).
Chatting in her dressing room, Carla worked her make-up while doing the interview: this woman knows how to maximise her time! The Portuguese singer chatted about her expectations for the next Festival da Canção and her memories from Baku and Vienna. She says she preferred her experience in Azerbaijan. Can you understand why?
The singer tried to represent her country in 2014 with her song “Mais Para Dar”, coming sixth in the semifinals and narrowly missing a place in the Grand Final. Three years earlier, in 2011, Carla tried with “So Acomtece Uma Vez” (It only happens once). She didn’t make the final then either. *Sadface*

My Portuguese favourites are “Deixa-me sonhar” (2003), “Foi magia” (2004), “Quero ser tua” (2014) and “Ha um mar que nos separa” (2015)
Portuguese sounds like music in my ears. But many songs between 2005 and 2013 were really bad or boring. I also couldn’t get the love for “Senhora do mar”, this song annoys me so much.
