Ruth Lorenzo, who represented Spain in 2014, is taking part in the Spanish TV show Tu Cara Me Suena (Your Face Sounds Familiar) and she is SLAYING, y’all!
Last year Ruth appeared as a guest on Tu Cara Me Suena, and gave an impressive performance as Whitney Houston. Her diva style obviously made an impact as she’s now back as a contestant on the fourth series of the popular show.
The Spanish songstress sang Lady Gaga‘s “The Edge of Glory”, but she smashed through the edge and swam 100 miles into the glory, as she nailed Gaga’s impersonation and she showed us she looks just as gorgeous in blonde! Ruth was a runaway winner with 24 points (12 from the jury and 12 from the public)
It might have been easy for Ruth’s powerful voice to deliver the tunes of Lady Gaga, but as you can see on the video, she also got inside the diva character and served a killer performance which has received one of the highest scores in the history of the program.
Ruth will next mimic the legendary Freddie Mercury and Spanish opera singer Montserrat Caballé with their song “Barcelona” (the song of the 1992 Summer Olympics). It will probably be a duet with some other artist, but there’s no doubt that Ruth could handle the work on her own. We’ll see next Friday!
The “Dancing In The Rain” singer joins the parade of Spanish artists who have taken part in the original version of Your Face Sounds Familiar. Toñi Moreno (1990, as part of Azúcar Moreno), Melody (NF 2009) have appeared on previous series, and the tigress herself Edurne won the third series. And Edurne’s Eurovision backing dancer Giuseppe di Bella is a dancer on the show, including this incredible performances with Edurne:
What do you think of Ruth as Lady Gaga? Do you think Ruth will win the series like Edurne did? Tell us below!
