Rumours have been flying high about Armenia this year, with artists such as Tamar Kaprelian and Iveta Mukuchyan thought to be representing the nation at Eurovision 2016. It’s about time we added another name to the mix and it comes courtesy of Athena Manoukian.

In an interview with armenpress.am, Athena, who tried to represent Greece at JESC 2008, made it clear she’d love the gig. “It would be an honor for me to represent Armenia in the Eurovision Song Contest”, she said, adding that she’d love to reconnect with her Armenian roots.

She was previously rumoured to be part of Genealogy, but that didn’t happen.

MTV describes her this way:

“This savvy teen and goddess of the stage was discovered a few years ago and immediately sky rocketed into Europe’s dance clubs overnight with her phenomenal vocal range, stage presence and catchy pop/dance tunes.

“From a very young age, she showed her talent in music and incredible ability in performing on stage. A true showpiece indeed!”

Would you like Athena to represent Armenia at Eurovision 2016? Could she bring the ooze, the sex appeal and the voice to the stage? Let us know in the comments box below!

Tamar would be excellent if they could get a song for her. Her voice is such that she could deliver something really high quality. She was wasted this year in that joke of a performance.

Armenia has a lot of talented artists, but my top choices would be:

1. Lilit Hovannisyan
2. Iveta
3. Christine Pepelyan – with a song like My One and Only
4. Tamar Kaprelian – with song like New Day
5. Erik

You know, Armenia has so many big names who’ve expressed their interest that a national final among some established artists wouldn’t be the worst idea. It’d probably be a huge draw!

I don’t care about Iveta, Tamar, Athena or whoever that person is. All I care is just the song, if Armenia has a great song to offer then why not?
