Trijntje‘s controversial “slutty widow” dress caused quite a stir when she wore it to rehearsals in Vienna. But she’s now putting the dress up for auction to support the LINDA Foundation charity.

Trijntje might have only worn the dress to her first rehearsal, but it made a huge impact. With a plunging neckline, ample sideboob and a strategically placed rip on the bum, Trijntje’s dress was the talk of Vienna and became a sensational frontpage news story back home in the Netherlands.

The dress made another appearance when Trijntje’s sister-in-law Edsilia Rombley cheekily wore the frock while delivering the Dutch points at the grand final.

But now Trijntje has put the dress up for auction, in support of the LINDA Foundation, which helps children living in poverty.

Want to achieve that “slutty widow” fantasy? Interested bidders can go here to place a bid. Bidding is currently up to €2650 (£1947).

Secrets of the dress

Dutch audiences were given a closer look at the dress on talk show RTL Late Night.

It was revealed that the dramatic slits at the front of the dress are actually lined with Swarovski crystals, as is the rip on the bum. There’s also something going on under the dress which involves even more crystals. You can never have too many crystals.

I don’t know why anyone would want that dress. It was never in the semi final. It is an ugly dress in my opinion. Just give a cash donation.

That was her first dress, yes? I thought I saw it in photos of her rehearsals. She should have stuck with it, instead of Missy Elliott’s “Supa-Dupa-Fly” dress. 😛

The dress was designed by ‘Venrah Zui’ the team in charge of the fashion house “Channel”. It’s chief designer Matt De Isla also designed the queens jubilee dress and is the fashion editor and C.E.O of Style Magazine. The dress is worth €183,000 and is made entirely of second hand fabrics.

No, no. The controversial dress is not this one. It’s the “parachute” one.

I wish I had the money for this. Couldn’t think of a better way to spend several thousand bucks.
