On October 13 Armenia’s AMPTV confirmed that the beautiful Iveta Mukuchyan will represent the country at Eurovision 2016. So far the response has been overwhelmingly positive, with our readers commenting that she’s got the voice, the look, and the stage presence to take Yerevan to the top. We’re also fairly certain that she will threaten to win Eurovision’s Next Top Model — the premier online modeling contest for the women competing at Eurovision. You can watch our initial reaction below.

But for now attention has turned to finding this diva a song that can slay the pack in Stockholm. To that end, AMPTV is staging an open call for composers. They will accept songs from composers anywhere in the world, and the number can cover any genre and be written in any language. They will not, however, consider any song that includes a “political subtext, insults, or inappropriate language.” Keep those four-letter words to yourself!

The song must be submitted by November 13 at 18:00 Yerevan time. You’ll want to send it to [email protected]

“Looks lil a job for………

THOMAS G:SON!”

lol So true.

I’d like to see Alexander Rybak get involved since he’s going most eastern but the year.

@CookyMonzta – a Euphoria like song infused with Armenian traditional instruments like duduk would seal the victory for Armenia this year

@Ronnie
I think firehunter means that this is the first year since the debut of the South Caucasus (Armenia 2006) that none of the countries reached top 10.

Personally, I feel Georgia shoud’ve reached top 10 this year but for the first time they scored higher than their Caucasian neighbours.

Anyways back to topic, I was just listening to Iveta’s music and I must say I was impressed. I feel she’s better up tempo. Hopefully we won’t have the Eurovision Ballad Contest in Stockholm.

@Firehunter – how is all three south caucasian countries making it to the final and finishing on the left side of the scoreboard – except Armenia (11, 12 and 16) a fail?

In the current year all countries from the caucasus region strongly failed at ESC. Earlier they showed greater ability. They must return to good, strict, compact and accurate entries. They must be easy to grasp and catch for viewers. They can not be cloudy, complicated, overgrown, extensive and embroiled.

Well we know someone somewhere in Armenia knows how to recognise a “wow” song, (referring to 2014 of course)……………………..and where was that person last year? Hope they find them again for 2016, could be a good year for Armenia.

@Kris: Aram is God… Let’s be honest, if ESC was ONLY about the music, Armenia would have easily won it in 2014…

Trashy pop music from Armenia, Greece and Turkey days has over. If they would send an ethnic-uptempo number to Stockholm, it will end up like Eleftheria Eleftheriou or Yüksek Sadakat.

But it’s still possible create a Safura, Ruth Lorenzo, Sanna Nielsen or Polina Gagariona from Iveta too. Good luck, Armenia!

(I still think that Tamar Kaprelian would be an excellent choice)

She’s simply stunning. I cannot wait to see her in Stockholm…come to think of it she’s right now the #1 reason why I’m going to Stockholm. Hey @wiwi, can I do some coverage for you? 🙂

ahh yes, i love that they’re opening it for foreign composers! i think any smart composers should pitch their songs to armenia because come on, it’s armenia… 50 points is confirmed.
