Ireland’s inaugural hunt for a Junior Eurovision star reached its halfway point tonight, with Muireann Vaughan winning the third heat of Junior Eurovision Eire.
Eight talented youngsters took to the stage, but Aislí Moran and Muireann Vaughan were the two who impressed the judges most. Ultimately, the panel of Niamh Kavanagh, Brian Kennedy and Stiofán Ó Fearail opted to send Muireann and her song “An Miongháire” to the 8 November final. The 15 year old joins David Kennedy and Aimee Banks. The fourth and final finalist will be revealed next week.

I wonder if the person who performs 4th next week will go through because all the others performed in the first three places. David Kennedy 3rd. Aimee Banks 1st. Muireann Vaughan 2nd.
This or Aimee should win, both are just so beautiful.
Eugene, if there was televoting in the final, then they would have had to move the entire process back by several weeks. The Irish final is on November 8th, only 13 days before JESC.
Perhaps they will go with live shows and televoting next year. This year it looks like they are giving the Contest a trial run and seeing how the land lies.
@Eugene the semis and final were all pre-recorded weeks ago. The song and performer have been chosen, we’ve just not been told yet.
After going back and listening to the other finalists I think David has the most potential. His song has more depth and wiggle room where the music could be changed up! I just think Ireland needs a pop song in the final…this is JESC..
For me David is best choice for Ireland , than Aimee
I love this! So much emotion, the best finalist so far!
In my honest opinion Rachel Galvin should have won this heat
@D
I fully respect other peoples opinions including yours but seriously…how can you prefer that drivel rap song more than Aimee Banks? The judges were basically taking the p!ss out of them which say it all!
@Evan
Unless something superb comes up next week Aimee is a pretty clear cut winner sunday week,
But then again like you said the worst song won the worst SF so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if the another awful decision is made….
Okay I’m starting to find it hilarious how the song I like least is the one chosen to move on every semi-final. Ireland really needed to include a televoting aspect in the semi-finals, three people shouldn’t have this much power in a national final.
Worst SF so far, and the worst song won. How this was picked over Aislí is beyond me.
All I hope is that Aimee from last week has won the whole thing otherwise we’re going to do awful.
