Has Philipp Kirkorov just dropped a huge hint as to who will be singing for Russia at Eurovision 2016? During a recent news report, the outlandish, extravagant Russian singer and producer announced that Russia’s Eurovision 2016 singer was in the room. Looking at Kirkorov’s Instagram page, it seems that there’s one artist who features an awful lot lately: pop sensation, Sergey Lazarev.
If Kirkorov has been working with the Eurovison act on his new video, then it would make sense that the two have been spending a lot of time together of late. Lazarev and Kirkorov have also been seen together with a very familiar face — Polina Gagarina. Did the “Woman of the Year” pass the ESC torch over in public?
This is not the first time that Sergey Lazarev has been rumoured for Eurovision. We even discussed the possibility of him representing Russia in 2015 in one of our Wiwi Roundup videos. Our correspondant Mikhail even chose Lazarev as his pick in our Wednesday Wishlist this year.
Lazarev frequently sings in both English and Russian and has recently released his “Best Of” compilation album in both languages. He has been working on new music as well, which could mean he has already recorded a Eurovision-ready track.
Do you want to see Sergey Lazarev representing Russia at Eurovision? Let us know in the comments section! And a special thank you to Eurofan Aleksey for the tip-off!
Before he goes to Stockholm he should have a doctor look at whatever is bothering him in the groin area. Looks like he has to hold it all the time.
I wish be he has told many times that he doesn`t wanna 🙁
Methinks they should still stick with the girls. They bring in the points.
Those who speak ironically about Russia and World’s peace. You are stupid brainwashed delusional tw@ts. Think about fTurkey and its destructive role in this fkn planet’s peace. They’ve deliberately sent towards Europe all those refugees and ready to send more. They support Isis terrorists who come to Syria via Turkey. When those cutthroats get hurt, they have a safety heaven in turkish hospitals. Isis terrorist make with turks business by selling them oil and human organs of butchered by them syrians, ezides, kurds including kids.
Fk stupid people.
yes please. i’d love to see my husband in eurovision stafe. <3
Most fans did speculate for Sergey Lazarev to represent Russia next year. Just don’t let him sing a song about peace. Otherwise, if he’s not gonna represent, let it be Sati Kazanova or Nyusha, please!!!
im waiting for the peace song this year. Oh the irony….
This would be awesome! Sergey is amazing!
First of all their 2014 entry was a love song, not a peace song.
But one way or another this is a SONG contest. Any country could send any SONG they want. This is about MUSIC and not about the politics of each government of the participating countries.
And to the topic: If Lazarev represents Russia I think that there are many changes for St Petersburg 2017.
For me Russia is only country at Eurovision, who got better song in russian than english language.
My TOP 3 songs from Russia are
1. 1994
2. 2009
3. 1997
4. 2000
5. 2012
Marcus (day one)
They sent 3 songs about peace in last 3 year in adult Eurovision, and 3 song about Dream in last 3 year in junior Eurovision.
Imagine if Russia sends a song about peace for the 4th time in a row.
Hahahahahahahaha XD
Would be cool, I need a good popsong to support at Eurovision 2016.
WOW that one gay video!
It better be Lerika!!!
Russia 2016:
“Peace to the world! No guns, no violence! One voice to represent us all! Make friends, not enemies! Flower power!”
?? ?? ??????(…. ????? ??????????? ?? ??????, ????…
Yeeees, please tell me this is true!! I wanted him to represent last year with the rumored song “Breaking Away” which is amazing, as well as “7 wonders” 😀
The article is wrong. Kirkorov didn’t say that the representative is going to be featured at the video clip. He said that “the representative is in the room tonight”.
This happened during a reception he gave for the premier of his new video clip. Many artists where there so he simple said that “Russian representative is here with us tonight”
I hope it’s not another peace song. Pazhalusta, Russia.
Not with this type of song. It must be more orderly, definite, emphatic. While the entire performance must be centralized and tight.
This rumour is back, lol.
This could be good, but Polina disappointing me like heck leaves me forever skeptical of artist announcements.
Yes!!!!!
