Songwriters have submitted a total of 84 songs for the Belarusian national selection for Eurovision 2016. Now it’s time for a jury of music professionals to whittle these entries down to just 15 for the national final. Defying all stereotypes of Belarusian governance, this will not be a shadowy selection behind closed doors. Belarus’ broadcaster TVR has organized a live audition for the first 60 songs and artists, which will take place tomorrow November 26. You can watch the auditions live on tvr.by. A second live audition for the rest of the songs will take place on December 1.
Alyona Lanskaya, who sang “Solayoh” for Belarus in 2013, will be part of the pre-selection jury together with well-known singer Alexander Solodukha and the Pesnyary ensemble. The jury will make its decision on December 2.
And then they’ll vanish. In the national final the winner will be selected solely by a public televote.

Who do you want to represent Belarus in Stockholm? Tell us in the comments!
@Robyn: What are Sweet Brains supposed to be, some bizarro mashup of Dolly Style and the Evil Dead? >:-X
@MTD, AnesBosna: Ylva and Linda tried to qualify in Switzerland, but didn’t make the first cut for the Expert Check of 19 songs.
At what time will the stream begin?
@Jaime R, right now!
I think this song by Kirill Yermakov is my favourite so far.

Sweet Brains to Stockholm <3
@MTD it’s funny that you mention Melfest, as Ylva & Linda Persson (know for their NS songs for a lot of countries) are the composers of the song 😛
So far, I like Alexey Gross the most. Hope we’ll see some more good songs in the audition tomorrow.
Alexey Gross was my favourite last year. I don’t get how he was so unpopular with everyone.
From the ones above – “Dragonfly” sounds like Melfest reject. Bad one, that is.
Chistiy Golos is too much Christmasy.
Sweet brains. Like, hell no!
Alexey – the best from this bunch. But, Belarussians have to go a little bit easy with their lyrics. Like, people, follow the melody, not the other way round.
Kek, Sweet Brains for Eurovision plz
and yesss the first live stream of the year finally <3333333333333
so hyped for tomorrow, since of course Americans have a day off for Thanksgiving which means I can actually tune into and watch the entire thing
oh wow
sweet brains
throwback to last year, i remember their novelty song
Sweet Brains song is fun, but they can’t sing live, what a shame.
Alexey Gross surprised me, he has great voice and sweet song.
