Drama was born in Greece and Eurovision 2005 winner Helena Paparizou knows how to bring the drama. So it’s only natural that the ultimate Greek Eurovision diva has been starring in the Athens production of the musical “Nine“. Since November 6 Helena has been performing on the stage of Pantheon Theatre alongside some of the country’s biggest actors. She’s stolen the show anyway.

Based on Federico Fellini’s semi-autobiographical film 8/12, “Nine” focuses on a film director on the verge of a midlife crisis. Helena plays Saraghina, a prostitute from his childhood.

paparizou-helena-nineShe has drawn rave reviews. “As expected, the big surprise of ‘Nine’ was Helena Paparizou,” entertv.gr writes. “We must thank whoever thought she would be suitable to play that role. Exactly ten years after she won Eurovision, we all remember how talented she is, the oringinal star quality she possesses and of course how unfair our behaviour towards her has been over the last few years. Helena has no reason to envy Fergie who played the same role in the ‘Nine’ movie, as I was told she shined more than the equivalent Broadway actress.”

No matter what she does, it seems like Helena she will always be our “Number One”. Are you dying to see her play the prozzy? Have you already seen the show live? Let us know below!

Is an “apocalypse” good or bad?

entertv.gr is actually not a ”reliable” source but all the respectfull theater critics agree that Helena is an apocalypse in this musical. Basically, though the show consists of an all-star cast, EVERYBODY talks about her. Maybe she should pursue one more career.
