Donny Montell‘s love for Eurovision isn’t blind any longer, as he has confirmed that he wants to represent Lithuania for a second time! Speaking to Lithuania’s LRT, he laid his ambitions out there for all of us to sit on: “My goal is Eurovision 2016. Shortly after Eurovision in 2012, I already knew in my mind I wanted to come back. I waited for the right song, it took three years.”
The timing of his announcement make sense. Today marks the submission deadline for the country’s complex national selection Eurovision Atranka 2016. The (in)famous Eurovision marathon in Lithuania will start in January 2016 and will end in March.
He wants to release his song as soon as possible — along with its video clip, filmed in Stockholm. He’s aiming high!
Donny Montell at Eurovision 2012
Donny is definitely a Eurovision veteran. He participated in the Lithuanian selection in 2009, 2010, 2011 and of course in 2012, when he won with the melodramatic “Love Is Blind”. Despite low odds that suggested he wouldn’t even reach the final, Donny achieved fourteenth place in the grand final. Take that, naysayers!
Donny Montell turned into Danny Saucedo. Logical.
Ew, he is an example of being Ugly ripped/Too much muscles/ Not knowing what fits your body. Gross. Anyway, Hated his song in 2012 so really wouldn’t want him back haha.
For me his song is one of better song from Lithuania at Eurovision
For me TOP 5 songs from Lithaunia
1. 1999
2. 2012
3. 2011
4. 2008 he deserved to be in final, song is for me like song from musical
5.2005
next are 2001, 2009, 2014…
Would be interesting to see him back as Kaliopi is also returning from 2012, would seem like Deja vu to them haha
Please no, hated his song in 2012!
Lithuania is usually one of my least favourite countries when it comes to ESC, that being said, Donny is one of the few lithuanian acts I actually like. I just hope his song will be better than Love is Blind, if he has been working out his musical skills just like his arms he should be fine.
That is great! Love is blind is an awesome song in both English and Lithuanian!
Wow. I’d vote for him.
Why they don’t just choose him?
