After quitting music, getting married and giving birth, Safura is well and truly ready for the next phase of her life and career. In fact, Azerbaijan’s Eurovision 2010 singer recently opened her first solo art gallery in Istanbul. Yes, she’s back in the world of art, but using her eyes and hands rather than her voice.
Safura, who was heavily tipped to win Eurovision with her song “Drip Drop”, has named the gallery “S”. It’s located in the trendy Besiktas area of Istanbul.
After tying the knot with Ferhad Aliyev (the son of Azerbaijan’s Minister of Industry and Energy), Safura announced that she was ending her music career. The opening of the gallery completes the transition, as she explained to 1news.az.
If it’s not music, then what? I always hesitate to answer: “Of course, painting!” I’ve been drawing since my childhood. One day I asked my husband, “What am I to do with so many pictures?” And he asked me to open a gallery — it was the idea of my beloved husband, to whom I am grateful for this support, and I say to him: “Thank you!”
You can visit Safura’s art gallery on weekdays and on Saturday between 11.00 and 20.00. Sunday is by appointment only.

she is a better artist than singer… good choice.. good to find a true calling 🙂
I’d love to open my own gallery too! Just need to find a rich husband so I can stop working
