Malta’s Xarabank hosted some Junior Eurovision royalty recently, with JESC 2015 winner Destiny Chukunyere performing with a whole host of stars from previous contests. The show was celebrating Destiny’s victory in Sofia and certainly had us feeling the JESC love all over again. But the highlight had to be a heartwarming reunion between Destiny and JESC 2014 winner, Vincenzo Cantiello.
Vincenzo first “called in” to the show, telling an obviously surprised Destiny that he “missed (her) so much” and even “I love you, Destiny”! A further surprise came when Vincenzo was revealed to actually be the in the studio, prompting an excited Destiny to rush over and hug him. We were really feeling the love here and it’s clear that the two singers really do have a connection. To make it even better, the two then performed a duet of Vincenzo’s winning song, “Tu Primo Grande Amore” – first love, indeed.
Destiny and Vincenzo reunite, perform “Tu Primo Grande Amore”
Destiny had more than one performance in her, as she was also joined by Malta’s other Junior Eurovision winner, Gaia Cauchi, to perform a duet of “Valerie“. Federica Falzon, the country’s 2014 representative, was also there to perform a duet of “Hallelujah” with Destiny. Even with this hugely different mix of songs, Destiny really delivered in each one and is definitely doing Junior Eurovision proud as its latest winner. To finish off the show, Destiny performed “Not My Soul”.
