Over in Albania another fifteen acts performed in the second semi-final of Festivali i Këngës 54 — Albania’s selection show for Eurovision 2016. Semi final 2 saw plenty of potential winners  — including our favourites Besa and Flaka — and both of them advanced to the final. Say, what?! It would be amazing if Italy and Albania co-hosted Eurovision. Back to the roots, descent staging, massive orchestra, no sci-fi effects.

Eneda Tarifa with Përrallë is by far the best, even though there are many good songs (quite surprising considering I don’t like much Albanian entries) however there is a high standard. Eneda has just an absolutely amazing and strong voice and her song pulls you in and keeps you intrigued – worthy of a top 5 in Eurovision in my opinion. I would also be happy if any of the others here win: Nilsa with Asaj is just a really beautiful song, it’s calm but suspense, it was the first of the 30 songs I heard from the national final… Read more »

My winners…

Enxhi
Flaka
Besa

All of these girls had killer songs, with killer performances, hopefully one should give Albania the comeback for last year that it deserves, I just hope Albania doesn’t go through an identity crisis and change their song again, although last year it was for the better, I really see these three being real players at Stockholm. 🙂 <3 <3 🙂 Good luck everyone!

Enxhi has the typical cheesy Eurovision song. I have heard this song a thousand times in the contest. Please not again. Besa is good but not good enough and she sang bad. Flaka’s song is so unique and moder it should win. It is a song that would slay in the charts and boy she can sing (Actually almost everyone in FIK has an amazing voice). And her name means flame in Albanian. Another one beside aSLAYdon with which they can make a word game.

My Favorites:
Eneda Tarifa
Enxhi Nasufi
Nilsa Hysi
Flaka and Besa disappointed me – the orchestra doesn’t really go with the songs and Besa’s vocals were shaky.
Who I think will Win:
Klodian and Rezarta
Teuta Kerti
Or someone forgettable
I don’t have much faith in the FiK jury so I’ve a feeling that many of us will be disappointed tonight. I really hope not and one of my favorites win.

I don’t get the hype around Besa, her song is nice but doesn’t go anywhere and her vocals where shaky, if she goes to Stockholm she won’t make the final, I think the ones to beat are Enxhi (which really impressesd me last night) Eneda (my fave) and Klodian/Rezarta. I love Nilsa’s song but I don’t think she can make it

Whoever wins here, we should wait for the eventual Albanian entry forward in March.

So, having semis with 15 songs each, and having a Final with 22…I mean, the math is ridiculous.

Only Aslaidon Zaimaj that should be represent Albania, his vocal and song amaze me (his song was heavily influenced from Linkin Park IMO) and just need a revamp to make it more modern and commercial. Besa’s vocal was weak eventhough the song is nice but i though it would be drowned at stage, and Flaka’s song was boring but she has amazing voice.

aSLAYdon for Albania! *like Luis said

The live orchestra didn’t help but I think Besa’s still the one to beat!

nilsa made it yessss <333333333333
totally didn't think she would make it
her vocals were not up to par in the first semi
if she can improve by tomorrow she's totally ensured herself a top 5 placement in the final

@Robyn there is a difference between good heavy/ stage make up and bad heavy/stage make up, the latter is what was seen tonight.

Albania do best when they are confident and/or bold – the only top tens they’ve had are with Anjeza and Rona. Anjeza was a strong ground-breaking Albanian pop song with a strong performance. Rona was an outlier that paved the way for Aminata. There’s only one song that stands out as being top ten in all of these and that’s FLAKA.

Be brave Albania – it’s the future.

I’m completely over Flaka’s song. Actually the only song I’m not over is Besa’s. So my vote would go to her.

HAHA I was thinking the same thing, not only with Flaka’s makeup but everyone’s. Terrible effort by the make up team.

Klodian and Rezarta have the only decent song… I really don’t like Besa and Flaka despite everyone seem to love it. Whatever the winner will be, i can’t see Albania qualifying for the Final though

I think that while Besa is the best of the bunch, as William said in the review, the song is very flat. It doesn’t display much vocal potential. Leading to the risk that if she goes to Stockholm and comes after a song of a similar quality, where the singer blows it out of the water, vocally and has a better overall package, I wonder where that leaves her. How will that affect her chances of qualifying.

Then again, the very opposite could easily happen and she’ll qualify no bother.

I agree Besa didn’t sound great with the Orchestra, but I am happy she, Dilan, Nilsa and Erga are in the final.

I think the most likely winners are Enxhi or Eneda, and I’d be very happy with both of this. I’m still hoping for Besa and Nilsa, but I don’t think it’s likely. Honestly, I like most of the songs sung by females that are in the final.

Having 22 songs in their national final seems a bit much. I’m not gonna be able to watch anyways but even if I was I’d definitely pass. It’s gonna take forever.
