It’s been sung in Italian, in Spanish, and even in the bemusing language of rap. Now “Grande Amore” — Italy’s televote-winning song at Eurovision 2015 — has its very own version in Greek. And why not? Greece awarded Italy douze points during the grand final in Vienna.

The Greek-language cover comes from Antonis Remos, a popular singer and a judge on “The Voice of Greece”. His version is called “Ola Pernoun” — or “Everything Passes”. As the title suggests, the cover keeps the pain and drama of love in sharp focus. Antonis says that he’s able to overcome everything in his universe except for love. Love hunts him. It won’t let him forget the past. It’s an illness and a cure at the same time. According to the YouTube comments, so is his cover…

Antonis isn’t the only Greek pop star who has taken inspiration from Eurovision 2015. Eleni Foureira previously covered Nadav Guedj’s ESC 2015 song “Golden Girl”.

@ranting ruby, I’m with you. No matter what the language, the music of the song still amazes.

Antonis sings well. It is not easy to provide both baritone & tenor vocals.

His voice seems…. forced. But I’m just so elated someone made a Greek version. Trilanguage mix, here I come!

>>>Greek music is unique, different from what you can usually find in the Italian pop scene, my country.
This is a very talented artist – Nikos Ikonomopoulos “Exetias sou”

@kostas
Agreed. It just sounds…odd. The Greek adds a different flair to it…but the vocals are…off. (IMHO of course…but as someone who was classically trained for a couple years.)

this song is not right for his voice. I mean he is not operatically trained.
