Iveta Mukuchyan always shines bright like a diamond. So it’s only natural that Iveta — Armenia’s Eurovision 2016 contestant — rang in the New Year bedecked in dazzling jewels while performing on AMPTV’s New Year Show.
Iveta served French cabaret realness while singing the sultry number “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend”, originally sung by Marilyn Monroe and later taken on by Nicole Kidman as “Sparkling Diamonds” in Moulin Rouge. But Iveta pushed both Marilyn and Nicole out of our memory with her show-stopping take on 1920s glam.
“I wish you beautiful moments for 2016,” she said ahead of her performance. “Moments that you would never forget in your life — and maybe some shiny presents…just like some sparkling diamonds that we girls would never mind to get.”
Miss Mukuchyan gives just as good as she gets. Watch below as she gifts us with feathers, fabulous and plenty of sex appeal. Iveta, thank you for taking us into 2016 in style!
Iveta Mukuchyan: “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend”
Earlier today Iveta released a video greeting on eurovision.tv. She stopped short of revealing her actual song, but did say that she and her team received hundreds of song submissions for Eurovision and narrowed their choice down to two (one Swedish, one Armenian). Eventually they picked the song that made her feel more emotional.
ehhh sounds like another year of the boring ballads, bring back qele qele apriciot stone and the fun years of jedward and zaleilah
As you say, I think it’ll be a ballad, and the Armenian song. I relate the Swedish one with an untempo song.
It is quite obvious that she decided between a great uptempo song and a great ballad.. and chosed the ballad…… so a ballad it is I presume.
She’s wow….definitely by far the best Armenian entrant to date. Let’s pray her song is just as good. Yerevan 2017 anyone?
Happy new year everyone!
