Next month six acts will sing-it-out in Die Grosse Entscheidungsshow 2016, Switzerland’s national selection for Eurovision. And today Swiss broadcaster SRF let those acts — Vincent Gross, Bella C, Kaceo, Theo, Rykka and Stanley Miller— know precisely when they will sing during the February 13 show by releasing the running order, which you can see below. Vincent Gross and Rykka — widely considered this year’s front-runners — have a bit of distance between them. He’ll open the show, while she has the pimp spot, performing next-to-last.
Entscheidungsshow 2016 Running Order
- Vincent Gross – “Half A Smile”
- Bella C – “Another World”
- Kaceo – “Disque d’or”
- Theo – “Because Of You”
- Rykka – “The Last Of Our Kind”
- Stanley Miller – “Feel The Love”
As in 2015, the six finalists will also perform a cover version of an existing hit single. This is going to be very interesting!
Finalists Cover Songs
Vincent Gross – “Astronaut” by Sido featuring Andreas Bourani
Bella C – “Empire State Of Mind (Part II)” by Alicia Keys
Kaceo – “Video Killed The Radiostar” by The Buggles
Theo – “Photograph” by Ed Sheeran
Rykka – “Love Me Like You Do” by Ellie Goulding
Stanley Miller – “Hello” by Adele
The winner will be decided by a combination of televoting and jury votes. Our poll is still open where you can vote for your favourite acts.
oooops
Platzhirsch’s performance was terrible! They sang completely out of tune.
Colin
I agree with your two choices. I’d definitely be happy with “Another World” if Rykka wasn’t chosen.
The last 3 winners of the Swiss final came out of either the #5 spot (Takasa, Mélanie) or the #6 spot (Sebalter) in the running order. However, I’m still believing that Rykka is miles ahead of the other five with her candidate song and she would do phenomenally well in Stockholm despite a rather tough semi. I hope the Swiss really support her
Rykka will probably win.
My #1 if they choose it, not really hard (Albania, Ireland, Belgium, Belarus, Malta)
Only two songs I like are ‘Last of Our Kind’ and ‘Another World’.
‘Half a Smile’ is decent, but what saves it from being rubbish is singer’s likable personality.
‘Disque d’Or’… well it would be different, that’s for sure. Also, having two French songs would be nice, compared to usual Englishvision.
And the last two, ‘Because of You’ and ‘Feel the Love’… just please no! They are so generic and stupid.
@oooops: Either that, or they would have ended up like PKN, Aarzemnieki or Shin; no in-between. I suppose Die Entscheidungsshow decided that a comedy act would be best left to a country (like Greece 2013) with a better chance of winning, and stuck with the more serious contenders.
But if Platzhirsch had qualified in Expert Check and won this show, then Switzerland probably would be in top 5, but no, that didn’t happen
Rykka wil do Caada proud.
And if Rykka wins, I imagine they will try and tweak this song to accentuate the eeriness of the music, and make it big-stage-ready.
I can picture a music video, set in a dystopian future, going very well with Rykka’s song. I hope she has one (to replace that lyric video) before the finals, to sway more voters in her direction, especially with 2 feel-good songs starting and finishing the original song segment. The cover song that Vincent chose could make or break his chances, complicated as it sounds.
I don’t see the other 3 (Bella, Kaceo, Theo) having any shot at this.
Rykka’s incredible and she’s singing Ellie Goulding too – could it get any better?
It would be insanity for Switzerland to send anybody other than Rykka.
Quite a predictable running order imo. And yes, it’s obvious that Rykka is going to win, like she should.
Either Vincent or Rykka would do well for Switzerland; those are my favourites. I like “Another World” as a song but i’m not a fan of Bella’s voice (sorry Bella!). For the other acts I’d say enjoy the evening, and better luck in the future. x
This national final is so bad that I can’t even find words lol Switzerland needs to get a grip, after last year’s last place on Eurovision ( which was undeserved ) this is the best they have? Good luck then…
Theo , Vincent and Rykka have good songs.
Switzerland should really have 12 finalists rather than this risky procedure with the cover songs going second. They lose a fair number of good songs in expert check each year, and for what?
We all know Rykka should win but we have all seen how Switzerland ended up not choosing the right person last year so I’m bracing myself for the worst.
My personal favourite is The last of our kind. I hope Rykka wins.
@CookyMonzta: Unfortunately the cover songs will be performed in the second round (at least that’s how it was for the past couple of years).
I don’t get what the point in letting them sing cover songs is AT ALL, but performing them second is even dumber.
Go, go, Rykka! Cheering for you here back home in Vancouver! 😀
Will they sing the cover songs FIRST, before they sing their original songs? It seems only appropriate that they get the cover songs out of the way, so that they can get on with the real reason they’re there.
If Rykka can pull off “Love me like you do” then she’s already won
Stanley Miller looks like winner in this situation. The best starting position and songs.
My top 6
1. Bella C
2. Kaceo
3. Rykka
4. Theo
5. Stanley Miller
6. Vincent Gross
How I think the results will be
1. Stanley Miller
2. Theo
3. Rykka
4. Bella C
5. Vincent Gross
6. Kaceo
I think it’s clear they want to send Rykka, and I don’t blame them. She’s easily the best song in the selection and judging by the expert check, she has the vocals to pull it off. I expect we’ll see her in Stockholm and she could qualify with the song, despite how hard that semi will be to get out of.
Whose time to shine
Why does Switzerland want to torture their contestants and us by having these cover songs being performed? It’s a song contest, NOT a karaoke contest!!!
Good Luck Rykka, It’s been a shit line up of Eurovision songs so far hopefully she can turn it all around!
Interesting running order, since I though Vincent might have a shot at the viewers. If performing first will prevent him going to Stockholm?
My favorite is Rykka anyway – next-to-last seems promising and if she can deliver “Love Me Like You Do” perfectly, she really might be the lucky one.
