The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan will take part in Melodi Grand Prix 2016 — Norway’s selection for Eurovision 2016 — with “Laika”. The song is written by group’s artistic director Tonje Gjevjon.
The Hungry Hearts was formed in 2006 and ever since they have been touring Norwegian and international film festivals with their short films and music videos. On their website they call themselves “an interdisciplinary project” and in their performances the visual aspect is just as important as the music. For MGP, they are joined by jazz singer Lisa Dillan. Their song “Laika” is a tribute for Laika, a Soviet space dog who was the first animal to orbit the Earth.
