After weeks of waiting, we finally got our first taste of the Melodifestivalen 2016 songs. Today seven artists from the first semifinal gathered in Gothenburg for their first rehearsals and SVT treated us to 30-second snippets of each performance. We saw Samir & Viktor strip off their shirts for an on-stage shower, Ace Wilder got slinky with some amazing choreography and Anna Book busted out a turbo-charged wind machine — only to be disqualified a few hours later.
We had our say on the rehearsals already — you can read our reviews here and watch our video reaction below. But now it’s your turn. Who do you think had the best first rehearsal today? Which two acts should advance direct to the final and which two should get a second chance? Vote in our poll for your favourites. You can vote for as many songs as you would like, but you can only vote ONE time. Simply check the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit. We will review the results on Saturday, ahead of Semi-Final 1.

*constellation prize
Samir and Victor were nice to look at (ogle..drool over)
But I think Ace is saving the chorus until the night when people can just go crazy. (hopefully)
And consolation prize is a nice ballad but it’s like songbird was 2 years ago, nice to listen to but dreadfully dull.
The rest are ok but after last year’s ridiculously strong semi this is just lack luster.
1. Samir & Viktor, 2. Ace Wilder, 3. Robin Bengtsson, 4. Mimi Werner, 5. Pernilla Andersson , 6. Albin & Mattias Andréasson, 7. Anna Book (worst entry and disqualified).
Many people are stupid. Ace Wilder is weak, vague and boring. I like much more “Bada Nakna”.
Again.. it’s easy to decide if the songs are good or bad in these snippets. Not. And also.. a performance can certainly give a song a facelift because it’s equally important. And Sweden knows it. That has been a successful formula since 2011. Well except for 2013 🙂
Extremely weak semi…
Ace should not compete if she does not have a decent song
Nothing got me excited based on these rehearsals. It does not look to be the strongest of semis.
I think Ace’s song has a lot more to offer than what was in the preview. Plus an extra vote for Samir & Viktor for the obvious shirtless reason 🙂
I like Mimi, Robin and Ace Wilder (though it is a little bit of a let down from Busy Doing Nothing – hope that the full song is much more promising!)
Shame about Anna’s disqualification though… 🙁
Ace Wilder is so overrated
