Dans un pays, loin d’ici, à la recherche du paradis we found Zoë — fan favourite to win Friday’s Wer singt für Österreich?, Austria’s national selection to Eurovision 2016. During our recent interview she proved that paradise isn’t out of reach as she wowed us with her live vocals and super sweet personality. She’s here and ready to win y’all!

ZOE (WSFO 2016): INTERVIEW

After coming third last year, Zoe was invited back to take part in the Austrian selection for Eurovision. She describes “Loin d’ici” as a “really dreamy song about looking for paradise. I think there is not a physical paradise to achieve, but more like a mental one — a state of mind where you just feel happy and comfortable”.

Some say Zoe’s song is end game and that she will win for sure. Miss Straub is loving your comments — but all the hype does make her a little jittery: “I’m more nervous this year because I want to do this, I really want to do this!”

The nineteen-year-old says her main goal is to fight for her dreams and fulfil them. “I think when you have a dream and really want to do it, you have to go on an never give up. Just being happy and relaxed and always pursue your goals — and never stop looking for your paradise”.

She will not win, Austrians will never vote for song in French. They like to choose something original to Eurovision – hip hop, rock, weird Conchita… Zoe is so average for them. She will finish 5th.

Hope, she’s not gonna win.. The song is too overrated… And imagination that French song would represent AUSTRIA is terrifying
