Let the games begin! Following tonight’s second semi-final, we now know the seven finalists which will compete in Söngvakeppnin’s grand final next Saturday. Tonight, Iceland chose three more songs to advance, along with the jury’s wild card pick.
The first one to be called on stage was Alda Dís Arnardóttir with their song “Augnablik”. The second name out of the envelope was Elísabet Ormslev and “Á ný”. And last but by no means least was Þórdís Birna Borgarsdóttir and Guðmundur Snorri Sigurðarson and their song “Spring yfir heiminn”. The wildcard song is still to be confirmed.
Update 13:50 CET: RÚV have announced that there will be no wildcard finalist this year. The jury didn’t think it was necessary to add a seventh song to the final.
Alda Dís Arnardóttir “Augnablik”
Elísabet Ormslev “Á ný”
Þórdís Birna Borgarsdóttir and Guðmundur Snorri Sigurðarson “Spring yfir heiminn”
What are your thoughts on the final six? Comment below.
@Sianna: Because you love a song does not mean that the whole world has to stop and stare at your request to have sent to the final … sometimes we get what we want sometimes we don’t .. just get over it.
No wildcard? No Kreisi? Can you tell me why?
Greta or Elisabet !!!! THEY SLAY !
How is the final line-up complete if the wildcard act is unknown? 🙂
The best six made it to the Final, now I wonder who will be making the switch to English? Probably Greta. I hope Raddirnar doesn’t loose any of its magic and mistery like Fjadrir did last year.
Alda, Greta or Elisabet would get into my top 3 if they won next week (assuming Bosnia & Herzegovina and Georgia don’t find something good). Cant find anything better than Albania in NFs though, they might be my number 1 this year.
Greta has this. And looking at the other Nordic countries, She could easily sweep all the 12 points from the nordic countries in Stockholm
I think I read somewhere that there is no wildcard this year and I really hope that’s the case – Iceland chose the right 6 for once.
5 out of my 6 favourites managed to qualify for the final :O never expected this to happen with Iceland lol they usually have a tendency to pick the worse ones but not this year !
Glad Alda made it. Greta has to win though!
Greta has this in the bag.
