The heat was on as six artists took to the stage in Helsinki and sang for just three spots in the UMK 2016 final on February 27. We saw Attention 2 on rollerskates, Wiwi Jury favourites Annica Milán & Kimmo Blom interacting through mirrors and Ylona breaking out of a cage.
Krista Siegfrids, who was absent due to her Melodifestivalen commitments, even made an appearance — with pre-recorded clips. Then it was time for the Finnish people to vote and while we waited for the results, we saw teen idol Robin performing mash-up of Finland’s 1980 entry “Huilumies” and his latest hit “Miten eskimot suutelee?“, showing why he is one of the biggest pop stars in the country.
In the end Finland decided to send Cristal Snow, Mikael Saari and Annica Milán & Kimmo Blom to the grand final. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Attention 2, Ylona and Rafaela Truda. This reflects Wiwi Jury results while two of your dream qualifiers made it.
Annica Milán & Kimmo Blom – interview
Next week we will find out the last three finalists. Singing for the remaining places in the final are Lieminen, Tuuli Okkonen, Gušani Brothers, Barbe-Q-Barbies, Pietarin Spektaakkeli and Sandhja.
What do you think of the results? Did your favourite qualify? Tell us in the comments.
100% correct 😀
THANK GOD RAFAELA DIDNT QUALIFY OMG
Pretty good choices!
The Mikael Saari song is boring but the other two should do well.
It was time! The three best acts had to qualify, no doubt about it. I’m very happy tonight 😀
Michael was very good vocally, but I found the act a bit too musical like. Annika and Kimmo had a good idea with the mirror. Rafaela was actually pretty good, But I think Ylona should have made it. And Crystal Snow just… Why??
Mikael’s performance was just… breathtaking
Please send Mikael to Stockholm. Everything this guy does is pure art.
Mikael Saari is one amazing performer. Just great.
This heterosexual show of Mikael Saari won’t help him in Eurovision. Just sayin’
surprised Rafaela Truda didn’t make it
My 3 favorite songs are in the finals 😉 Finland is getting closer to potentially having one of the best songs of ESC 2016. That said, Mikael Saari had the best performance of the night (and perhaps the whole UMK), but unfortunately my other favorites Kimmo & Annica and Cristal Snow had some trouble with staging and surprisingly Rafaela Truda outshined them on stage. I am happy with the result though, but Good Enough and Love is Blind need to be polished till finals.
I’m sad Attention 2 didn’t make it but oh well
