The temperature is rising in Norway! National broadcaster NRK has revealed the 10 songs that will compete in Melodi Grand Prix 2016. On February 27 they will all bring their A-game, but only one will be crowned the winner in Oslo Spektrum and earn the right to sing for Norway at Eurovision 2016.

The Norwegian public will decide the actual winner, but all y’all can have your say in our fan poll. Who do you think should represent Norway at Eurovision 2016? You can listen to all of the songs below and then vote. You can vote for as many of your favourites as you would like, but you can only vote one time. Be sure to check the box next to each act you want to support before pressing submit. We will close the poll on February 26 and go through the results before the final.

1) Afterglow- wonderfully different voice and vreat mysterious feel. I also like the way this song builds towards the end. 2) Laika – its novalty but novalty with substance. Its got a catchy chorus and everything else fits into place in its own unique way. I also really like the lyrics 3)traces – it may be a little Disney but i dont see disney becoming unpopular any time soon. Stine has a beautiful voice and the song is really touching. Im not sure if its quite right for eurovision but i love it. I see why icebreaker is popular but… Read more »

I can’t decide between Suite 16 or Laila Samuels. I’m not sure Norway will do very well this year regardless of what song they pick, but I’d be happy with either of those. Agnete – Icebreaker: Wow, I generally refrain from saying things like this, but this is indeed two different songs, at least as far as the instrumentals go. It’s a shame because she’s a good vocalist, and this song has some great ideas. Elouiz – History: This song sounds like it belongs in the movie Frozen during the verse, and the chorus sounds like a song Charice would’ve… Read more »

It will be Laila, but I would really love to see The Hungry Hearts in Stockholm, their song is sooooo good and funny.

Even the Pegasus is current the last in the poll, they are still my faves to win.
STINE HOLE ULLA WITH “TRACES” is the better anyway, but if we were in the 60’s or 50’s it;s the winner. Her voice is so special. But, in 2016, this song no working anymore to Eurovision Song CARTOON.
No Oslo 2017 anyway.

I love how everyone just passes most entries. No one has said anything about Anyway. Okay, I really want Traces to win, followed by Icebreaker and Afterglow. Afterglow and icebreaker still hurt my ears though.

I think Suite 16, because I would to see the boyband match-up with Lighthouse X.

If bombo came second in 2013, Freddy Kalas has a shot

The support for laughable acts like Laika and acts like Feel da rush (which just like 2011 & 2012) do not represent the country of Norway are a big part of the reason they have come last more than any other.
Learn from your mistakes.

Afterglow just has to win, but then again last year Norway chose three of the worst songs in their selection to go to the superfinal with “A monster like me”, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull a Denmark and go for “Laika” or “Feel da rush”.
I will never forgive you for what you did to Karin last year, Norway >:(

A very underwhelming and weak set of songs … specially when you’ve 3 amazing years in a row with remarkable songs. No depth at all here. Disappointed.

2016 is definitively becoming the 1987 of the current decade …. disaster.

Very weak line-up, but “Afterglow”, “Laika” and “Anna Lee” seem like the… well, ‘best’.
I’ll scream if “Feel Da Rush” wins. Like really.

I love Agnete with Icebreaker, and she commented on my comment too :3
But it is probably Suite 16, cause with Denmark I expected the boyband to win too.

For me , my TOP 5 are
1.Laila Samuels with “Afterglow”
2.The Hungry Hearts feat. Lisa Dillan with “Laika”
3.Stine Hole Ulla with “Traces”
4.Agnete with “Icebreaker”
5.Suite 16 with “Anna Lee”

If Norway have same taste as Denmark, and want to make bad decision lke Denmark did yesterday , they wili chose Suite 16 for Norway at Eurovision 2016.

Feel da rush is probably going to win Melodi Grand Prix this year. The song debuted at no. 7 in the Norwegian charts right now, and Freddy Kalas is a pretty popular artist. I’m rooting for Afterglow though

Laika is the only option. The rest are terrible; Laika is terrible too but in the most amazing way

If Laika is just as funny as the pizza song from last year, I wouldn’t be surprised if it makes the Super Final.

Afterglow is still my favorite. Icebreaker feels like two different songs. Traces is very pretty. Feel Da Rush, after a few more listenings, is decent.

The Hungry Hearts definitely! Otherwise they will choose a sandy ballad that will be indistinguishable amongst the 20 other or so ballads.Laika is original, catchy, creative, engaging and grows on you each time you hear it.the band members are also very likeable. This song will get votes and if it gets through will be the dark horse of the contest.

It has to be Laila Samuels. Fingers crossed! Afterglow is an epic masterpiece. I just hope the Norwegian public won’t be put off voting for another ballad because it’s far stronger than both Monster Like Me and Silent Storm. Afterglow would be another top 10, if not top 5 finish IMO.

Icebreaker is the only one that is alright. The resta are very bad. Norway had all good songs from 2008-15. Very disappointed.

Sorry to say but Freddy Kalas will make the top 3, or maybe even win. Already the third most streamed song on Spotify in Norway, and he’s the most popular artist among them!

Or even Nicky Byrne is worse than Molly Sterling, because she had some, but very weak idea for staging. Now Ireland has absolutely no idea for staging so this is first officially disqualified country by me in ESC 2016.

I really have no idea now about Norway. It is not that I do not know nothing, because I know at least that Ireland this year is so very bad that, as this country was bad last year with Molly Sterling. That is one thing I know for sure. Nothing can change it. This is game over for Ireland.

The Hungry Hearts for the win!!! I absolutely LOVE their song and the whole concept of it, I can’t wait to see how they will stage it in the MGP. If they do it right and Laika wins, Norway might be a big surprise in Stockholm.
