With just over a week to go until Slovenia decide on their Eurovision 2016 representative, RTVSLO have revealed 30-second snippets of the 10 finalists via the EMA YouTube channel. The songs cross genre, snaking through Slovenian rap, sultry rock, modern pop-folk and of course EDM. If you’re ready to turn up the volume and take it all in, then have a listen below.
EMA 2016 30 Second Preview Snippets
If the snippets have left you wanting more, then keep an eye out next week as broadcaster RTV Slovenija may (or may not) unveil the songs in full on during their radio presentations.
EMA 2016 takes place on 27 February at 20:00 CET and will be hosted by the multi-talented Klemen Slakonja. All ten finalists will perform on the night and the juries will select two songs to advance to the EMA super-final. The public will decide the winner.
What do you think of the snippets? Any early favourites so far?

Given these snippets here, methinks it’s Raiven or (complete) bust.
Tales of tomorrow sound a lot like a Mumford and sons song, but I can’t think of the name of it
Anja Bas
Nusa
Raven
Sebastian
Zan
Hey, isn’t the rapper of D Base one of Murat & Jose?
I’ve heard “Postan ti sam” and his voice is… the same…
Nothing here sounds decent enough.
And as for Regina, for a 50 year old, her song sounds like the theme song for a Disney Channel series.
I think Slovenia will be staying in the semi this year.
There isn’t a song I especially dislike from this bunch, but neither there’s an entrie which could improve the Maraaya’s 14th position. A priori this would be my top 5:
1. Raiven – ?rno bel
2. D BASE – Spet Živ
3. Anja Kotar – Too cool
4. ManuElla – Blue and red
5. Žan Ser?i? – Summer storz
crno bel!
slovenian would be a nice addition to this year’s contest
Being honest, it’s between Raiven and Nusa, but I don’t dislike any snippet.
Stop it! We all want Nusa Derenda to win!
You would think, after Slovenia’s best ever placing at any Eurovision event at JESC 2015, that Maraaya, or maybe even Lina herself, would be involved with at least a few of the competing entries.
However, this is probably the first time I have ever liked the sound of all the songs in a national final. Being one of my favourite countries at Eurovision, I hope Slovenia can pull it off! Well done! 🙂
Not good Slovenia…
What If, Tales of Tomorrow and Summer Story are the only final-making songs.
Raiven’s song flop in Stockholm unless it has a drop (which i hope it does)
Raiven sounds so special ! I think i love it
Raiven sounds amazing, the others don’t really stand out but there are other good songs.
“Crno Bel” and “Summer Story” sound the best by far at the moment. Let’s hope the whole songs are as good.
I think it’s gonna be a fight between Nuša and Raiven in the final… Nuša will definitely go to the super final, I’m sure about that… I don’t know, 30 seconds can’t tell much. Maybe The song that you think is amazing comes out like a crap when you hear it in full version
Not really feeling it. Maraaya save us!
Raiven (sounds promising, indeed)
Regina (gets really my attention !)
Sebastijan Lukovnjak (not bad at all)
Zan Sercic (summer song : why not !)
Only with Anja Bas , Slovenia have some chance for final .
Snippet:
Raiven Crno Bel 8
Nusa Derenda Tip Top 7,5
Anja Kotar Too cool 7
D Base Spet Ziv 7
Regina Alive in every way 6
ManuElla Blue and red 6
Zan Sercic Summer story 5
Sebastijan Tales of tomorrow 5
Anaja Bas What If 4
San Di Ego Brez Tebe 2
My favourite is Raiven’s snippet. It sounds really interesting and different. I wish the full song is that amazing!!!
Anja Bas, ManuElla and Raiven gets my attention….
Because she is my favourite Slovene representative ever, I’m keeping an eye out for Nuša Derenda. Cool song, quite theatrical.
Raiven is also one to look out for. The snippet leaves me wondering what the rest of her song is like.
‘Summer Story’ sounds interesting.
There are two songs here i can see doing rather well at ESC anthey are Too Cool ((major sass vibes kinda like Maja Keuc)) and Tip Top, which sounds better than Energy imo. I look foreward Slovenia!
There aren’t any bad songs here, well done Slovenia. In my opinion, it sounds like it is between “What if” and “Tales of tomorrow.” Two good songs, that have very good melodies.
For me Spet Ziv and Summer Story sound most promising, and also the only ones who sound promising to me haha. Didn’t expect very much but this is way weaker than last years line-up!
My favorites are Anja Kotar, Raiven, and Sebastian Lukovnjak. So many nice songs this year
