Step aside, Edyta Górniak — you just got upstaged. Fellow Krajowe Eliminacje finalist Margaret has today released her track “Cool Me Down” and it is seriously hot, y’all. This is one of the most current songs that we’ve heard all year and it sounds ready-made for the Eurovision stage.

The track debuted exclusively on Polish radio before Margaret confirmed that the song is also available on Tidal. She is rubbing shoulders with the likes of Beyoncé and Kanye on that platform and we can see why.
“Cool Me Down” is incredibly current and would appeal to most international radio stations right now. Unsurprisingly, it’s got people excited on social media, with many calling it a potential top 5 and even winner of Eurovision itself. There have also been a number of comparisons to Rihanna.

It depends whether or not she can sing it well live. If she can and it’s sent to Stockholm, Poland would have have a very good chance of being Top 5 and a small chance of winning the entire contest.

@Szymi just look at all probes and comments on Polish media, where people consider sending Szpak, cos he’s similar to Conchita and ESC like weirdos like him. I don t see Poland chance to win the contest or to be in TOP 3 or TOP 5. I think with this song Poland wilL be in 100 % in final thanks to song and draw for semifinal, in final with best luck with draw…. from 6 to 10 place.
Margaret has a specific voice, which seems to sound like RiRi, I bet live it’ll sound a bit different than in a studio. She’s not RiRi copycat, just listen to the rest of her songs. More original than most of singers screaming on stage with identical voices.

I personally love it! It does sound so current and modern. However it’s not the first song of this type to attempt to go to Eurovision (pop, radio friendly and “american-sounding”) I have flashbacks of Alexandra Joner from Norway last year. I hope Margaret makes it though, would be interesting to see how a song like this does in the contest.
Who says that this sounds American? it’s more fair to say that it sounds Barbadian, because she sounds like Rihanna, lol. I can only hear a well produced and trendy song, this song could be a killer one, i like it, this is what Poland need after all these years, well done Margaret!

It certainly sounds like Rihanna. Maybe a little bit too much to catch the jury’s approval. That said, it is by far the best song I’ve heard this year. That chorus is everything. It woud be ludacris if Poland didn’t chose it.

Eurovision 2017 will be held in Poland
So another product straight from the swedish factory. Sounds like a Zara Larsson reject sung by a Rihanna impersonator. Well, it IS catchy, I will give you that, it won’t exactly be a tragedy if it wins in Poland, but it feels a little bit too clinically calculated for my taste.

Very Rihanna. It would be an interesting entry that lends itself to good staging and presentation. This could easily stand out, qualify, and place on the left side of the scoreboard.
I’d love to see Poland in Top 5 of this year’s contest, it’s been long overdue and they deserve it.
Makes an impact on the one, or two listens that it presents to Europe. Would be a good choice for Poland. I need to check out the others though
Margaret’s got a real hit in her hands, it’s fresh, modern and sooo catchy.
Still, live vocals might be one of the things that could throw her off and destroy her chances to represent her home country.
Hopefully, Margaret will be able to hold her own and prove she’s actually a good singer.
