Iceland chooses its Eurovision 2016 representative later tonight during a Söngvakeppnin 2016 final which promises to be a must see. This year marks the country’s 30th anniversary in the contest, and Loreen and Sandra Kim will be joining the festivities. Of course, the main event will be the actual selection. And if it was up to you to decide, Greta Salóme would be the winner with “Hear Them Calling”. Out of the 1,246 votes cast, she received 367. That’s 29.45% of all votes cast!

Greta previously sang for Iceland with Jónsi in 2012, finishing a disappointing 19th with “Never Forget”. Will she have her revenge in Stockholm?

According to the poll, Alda Dís should advance with Greta to the super-final. The “Now” (aka “Augnablik”) singer placed a distant second. She picked up 200 votes less than Greta (167), or 13.4% of all votes cast.

Landing at three, Karlotta Sigurðardóttir would narrowly miss the super-final. Only 24 votes separate her and Alda — she earned 143 votes or 11.48% of the total votes cast. Can she turn the tables on Saturday and qualify with “Eye Of The Storm”?

If Greta wins, this would be one of the only times in recent years that I like Iceland.

Greta has to win this. The song, her voice, the staging, there’s no competition really. And when she makes it out of Semi 1 in Stockholm, she’ll be getting my votes from the UK

Anything but the rap song would be a fantastic choice for Iceland. My personal favourite is A ny.

Greta is the only choice.

I don’t usually listen to NF songs but I have heard nothing but good things about Greta’s song. Best of luck to her tonight.

At this moment three countries have bad winners (Albania, Belarus and Denmark). I think the winner in Iceland is clear, but even if Greta Salome will be not winner, this is not important for me, because this entry is not revelation.
