Tomorrow, the Eurovision 2016 national selection for Ukraine will come to a close. Earlier this week, we put the question out to you–who should get the honour to represent Ukraine in Stockholm this year? The people have spoken and the result is clear! After counting a massive 2,765 votes, it’s time to reveal the winner…

First place with 40.87% of the vote went to The Hardkiss with their song “Helpless”. Prior to the Ukraine selection even beginning, The Hardkiss were a huge favourite amongst fans. Their more subdued song “Helpless” surprised us at wiwibloggs, and saw them score a healthy second place in the first semi final.

Second place went to the beautiful Jamala with her song “1944”. Emotionally charged and powerful, “1944” was a favourite in our poll as well as with the Ukrainian public, after gaining first place in the first semi final with a huge 49.22% of the vote. Jamala received a total of 867 votes in our poll, thus giving her 31.36% of the vote and second place.

Lucky number three went to the gorgeous ladies of NuAngels with their song “Higher”. These ladies bring the power in their song for Ukraine, and you guys are lapping it up. After receiving 12.3% of the votes, NuAngels comfortably sit in third place.

Very closely behind is SunSay with his song “Love Manifest”. The winner of the second semi final fell just short of NuAngels and received 12.08% of the votes in our poll, thus resulting in fourth place.

Quite a large gap separates fourth and fifth place in our poll. Fifth place went to Pur:Pur with her song “We Do Change”. The lady with the headpiece that looks like a bowling pin made of chicken wire, left an impression on 52 voters, giving her 1.88% of the vote and fifth place.

And lastly in the Ukraine selection is Brunettes Shoot Blondes with their song “Every Monday”. These guys didn’t leave much of an impact on you guys–with only 42 votes, or 1.51% of votes going to the group, resulting in sixth place.

WHO SHOULD REPRESENT UKRAINE AT EUROVISION 2016? (POLL RESULTS)

  1. The Hardkiss – “Helpless” 40.87% (1,130 votes)
  2. Jamala – “1944” 31.36% (867 votes)
  3. NuAngels – “Higher” 12.3% (340 votes)
  4. SunSay – “Love Manifest” 12.08% (334 votes)
  5. Pur:Pur – “We Do Change” 1.88% (52 votes)
  6. Brunettes Shoot Blondes – “Every Monday” 1.51% (42 votes)

I’d like Jamala to win, I heard 1944 the other day finally an Di see why she’s a favourite. The first verse is a bit???? but from the chorus onwards it just keeps getting better. Her voice is astounding.

The Hardkiss is also good but it needs to be Jamala this year.

1944 is pure class, it has to win. Although Helpless started growing on me, I don’t see it overtaking Jamala after the semi results.
SunSay won’t win either, because he’s a dude and this is Ukraine. Would be a shock 😀

OMG c’mon SunSay’s song is simply amazing! It’s catchy and his voice is so deep and original. And that dancing moves are also kinda cute 😀 For me, Jamala’s song is boring, especially when she’s starting to moan something… And I think that using political theme isn’t a way to win in the Eurovision.

Good luck, SunSay! Love is the only way! 😀

as much as I should respect people’s individual opinions and comments, an active reader in this site has been quite annoying for weeks now. i miss mariovision.

This will be the first time since Ukraine won’t be a top 10 contender :/
1944 is so overrated, but i hope they pick Jamala because my own country wants a top 10 spot aswell.

Am glad that the result is not based on a wiwibloggs poll.
The Hardkiss have a monotonous and uninspiring song. It is a shame that people are voting for the band rather than the song that they put forward.

I would put money on ,to say that either jamala or hard kiss if they are chosen for stockholm , THEY WILL NOT WIN EUROVISION , THIS IS NOT UKRAINE SONG CONTEST

Jamala will win tomorrow, no question. The Jury and the public love her, the vocals are just unreal and the emotion is conveyed perfectly.

The Hardkiss have a good song, but it gets quite boring at the 2 minute mark.

And I’d be extremely sceptical of sending a male artist; the two times Ukraine have done this they’ve scored terribly. Yet all of the females they’ve sent, bar one, have come top 10.**

**Verka isn’t included in these statistics 😀

Maybe Jamala will sing in drag as a man? Just a thought 😀

@Eugene ah I forgot the producers were pushing for that. Which sucks.
If they wanted a male performer then they should have found a man with a stronger entry.

I hope Jamala’s 1944 wins. She’s been through HELL before she finally decided to give Eurovision NF another shot!! I mean she lost to Mika Newton(2011) & Zlata(2013)before!!? Now is her chance!!

Let’s be honest, It’s been a 2 horse race since the start. I feel Jamala will have one up on The Hardkiss if she reworks her visuals and her look but tbh it could go either way

I respect everyones’ opinion but there is no way that helpless is better than 1944. IDC though, as she is going to win tomorrow easily.
