All 12 semi-finalists sang their entries live at a beerhouse in Bucharest tonight, with 2,000 people in attendance. Fan videos are available on YouTube. Most contestants exceeded expectations, while two or three had some issues with the sound system. Ovidiu Anton, Florena and Doru Todorut and Irina Baiant received the biggest cheers of the evening.
Other details regarding the live shows
The organisers have also revealed that tickets will be made available for spectators in Baia Mare at the very accessible price of 5 lei (a little over 1 Euro), which ensures that Lascar Pana Sports Hall will be packed. Also, head of delegation Iuliana Marciuc specified that Paula Seling will open the National Final, hinting that the interval act will be an international affair. Fans have begun speculating that it could be Spain’s representative Barei, who also performed her Eurovision entry “Say Yay” at last week’s semi-final in Ukraine.
Coming back to the running order, in the last couple of years the acts who competed first also went on to represent Romania at Eurovision — as both Paula Seling and Ovi in 2014 and Voltaj in 2015 eventually won despite performing first.
