After three weeks of semifinals, we finally know the nine finalists competing in the final of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2016. Tonight the last semifinal took place in Helsinki and from six artists, the Finnish public chose three of their favourites. We saw Lieminen forming a human pyramid, Tuuli Okkonen singing in the rain and Pietarin Spektaakkeli throwing us back to the 50s. While we waited for the results, Finnish popstar Chisu sang her version of Finland’s Eurovision 1962 entry “Tipi-tii“, making us forget the excitement for just a few minutes. Then it was time for UMK hosts Krista Siegfrids and Roope Salminen to reveal the finalists.
The last three UMK 2016 finalists are Barbe-Q-Barbies, Tuuli Okkonen and Sandhja. Only one of them — Sandhja — was also among the Wiwi Jury favourites while our readers predicted all of the three finalists right. This obviously means Pietarin Spektaakkeli, Lieminen and Gušani Brothers didn’t get enough televotes and were eliminated. Maybe see you next year?
Now we have our nine finalists and one of them will represent Finland at the Eurovision 2016. The winner will be decided by jury votes together with the votes from Finnish public on February 27.

Any of these. Eini would be my fav and I’d love for her to win. But I never pick winners in UMK (I picked Oopera Skaala last year) so eh.
I just watched this Semi Final. There were five up-tempo songs and one very powerful slow ballad. Everyone seemed to have a good night – it must have been difficult to choose a top three! Anyhow, I’m happy with the three that made it. Tuuli only messed up on her highest note, so some sympathy and forgiveness were a factor there. She was stunning otherwise. After seeing her live, I now want Sandhja and her fabulous choir to win! Great charisma, great voice! But they absolutely need to do something about the stage show. The outfits did not work. That dj-person was completely unnecessary. Still, this is the best I’ve seen/heard in UMK16 this year.
It’s a shame Lieminen was awful live, I love his song. Tuuli didn’t sing badly, but her voice is just too nasal for me to enjoy.
Now that I´ve discarded Tuuli and Annica & Kimmo for the win (unless they seriously improve their harmonies) I’m left rooting for Mikael and Saara in a very distant second.

Good Enough to win… EUROVISION SONG CONTEST

Other 3 acts are nice too. No matter who wins, Finland won’t suck this year.
Before semifinal my favorite was Saara Aalto but she fall to impress in semifinal, in some part of song song is not good, part of song where female backing singers sing uuuuuu is afull part, and Saara had not good hairy style in semifinal.
After semifinal my favorite for win are
