Minus One are all set to release their Eurovision Song “Alter Ego” tonight. Ahead of that, François, the band’s lead singer, appeared in France’s “The Voice: La plus belle voix”. As TeleLoisirs reports, he slayed during the blind auditions episode that aired over the weekend and managed to turn a chair. A sign of good things to come? We hope so!

This means that he will get a chance to fight for a place in the final in the following weeks, during the “battles phase”. If he qualifies for the live shows, though, an obvious question rises — what will happen with his Eurovision participation? As the lead singer of Minus One, he will have to be in Stockholm between May 2nd and May 15th, a period that includes two live shows of The Voice. This means that, if he manages to reach these specific shows, he will have to give up on the show and travel to Stockholm.

Until then, though, François may have acquired a fan base in France that could potentially vote for Minus One at Eurovision. One could say this is not only Mr. Micheletto chasing his dreams, but also pulling a strategic move…

So what do you think? Will François manage to get to the live shows? Share your thoughts below!

The blind auditions were recorded in the early autumn, he probably didn’t know he was going to ESC (he said before his performance that he had a band in Cyprus but felt like he had done everything he could there already), so I suppose he’ll have to be eliminated soon.

I don’t think it’ll help Minus One that much. I doubt most Eurovision viewers will remember him, and I wouldn’t count on Stéphane Berne or Marianne James to remind us of it, as The Voice airs on a different channel.

Marcus: But Elhaida did not plan to join Eurovision last year just to garner votes and attention from the Italian public.

@Paul D Kendji Girac only turned one chair, and he won the whole show.

Funny how he auditioned for the voice in France when the show clearly conflicts with Eurovision.

I think he clearly knows he won’t win the show and has just done this for the French public to recognize him at esc

If you look at Elhaida last year she topped the Italian public vote.

Could this just be done for some extra votes.

It would make sense if it was just the battle rounds or the knockouts that conflicted with esc then that would be fine since if it’s like the UK they’re filmed before the auditions are showed.

He was much better in the cypriot final last year. In this clip, you could barely hear him sing at the beginning…

I think this is an strategic move, if not I can’t understand the reason knowing he has to perfom in Stockholm. If I were Cypriot, I would be angry because this can take all his attention …

What the hell was he thinking? Couldn’t wait a year or so?
Anyways, I don’t he’s going too far on the show as he only turned one chair
