This Saturday at Melodifestivalen 2016, eight acts will have their second and final chance to make it to the final via the andra chansen heat. Producers have divided the eight acts into four duels where they will sing for their life in the contest, with the winners advancing to next week’s final and the losers packing their bags for good. Today in Halmstad the artists took to the stage for the very first time in their bid to sing another day…
All of the acts have already been put through the wringer in their various heats, so there weren’t any significant changes to the stage performances which you’ve already seen. Even so, SVT wanted to give us all a sneak peek and have published 30-second clips from today. YouTube views for these rehearsals are down significantly over the heats. It seems like Swedes and Melfest fans are resting up ahead of next week’s EXTRAVAGANZA in Stockholm.
Andra Chansen 2016: Our Picks
Panetoz – “Håll om mig hårt” vs. Molly Pettersson Hammar – “Hunger”
Panetoz were sent to andra chansen last week, having watched Molly Sandén and Frans slay the fourth semifinal. They’re still bringing the fun, the energy and the slightly clumsy choreography. Perhaps they enjoyed a tropical cocktail prior to taking the stage?! They’ll square off against Molly Pettersson Hammar, who is bringing the same fire and passion as she did in the second heat. We’re praying she doesn’t slip off her podium and burn that beautiful dress! As she told us in Malmö, the thought terrifies her!
Albin & Mattias – “Rik” vs. Boris René – “Put Your Love on Me”
Albin & Mattias have waited four weeks for their second chance and have had time to work on their chemistry. They already appeared to be singing to each other during their heat, so perhaps this time around they’ll catch on fire! Albin looked a little lost on the stage last time, but this time he seems to be hitting the cameras much better. They’re relaxed and having fun, but so is there opponent. Boris René came out of nowhere, worked his charisma and had us on our knees smiling. His song is much more memorable than his rivals, but will he get enough votes to beat the popular duo?
Isa – “I Will Wait” vs. SaRaha – “Kizunguzungu”
Our jaws hit the floor when Isa failed to reach the final. Even if many of us preferred Wiktoria and David Lindgren, her reputation is huge in Sweden. Isa isn’t fazed by having to sing in Second Chance. Today she showed off her amazing voice and the staging impressed once more. Even so, Isa faces a tough fight from relative unknown SaRaha who is racking up YouTube views with her upbeat number “Kizunguzungu.” It’s a real ear worm larged deep inside all of our heads! Once again she brings the sun and the Tanzanian realness and is ready to sing her way to Friends Arena past Isa.
Dolly Style – “Rollercoaster” vs. Samir & Viktor – “Bada nakna”
Both acts competed in Andra Chansen last year, but only Samir & Viktor made it out. Since then Dolly Style have had to replace two dolls — and more troubles lie ahead as they will face Samir & Viktor, who have topped the Swedish charts and have over 2 million views on Youtube for their song “Bada nakna.” Plus they show some skin! Is there any way for the Dollies to emerge with their wigs on?!

What makes you think that Molly will win the jury vote? I’m just curious since I honestly don’t think it will appeal to the juries (or the televoters) that much. I’d personally predict her to finish somewhere between 4th and 7th overall.
I can’t believe ” I WILL WAIT” by ISA is in this position.
Her song is soo good that it deserves to be waiting for the finals night and not fighting for a spot in the finals night with other horrible songs.
This is the most decent song that should and must represent SWEDEN.

Duel 3: Isa (She’s one of favorites to win even when she is in the AC)
Duel 4: Dolly Style (I don’t like Bada nakna, I don’t know why swedish love that song)
No matter what our chances are I still think that Frans is mostly popular in Sweden because of his history with the swedish people. But the song and his singing is really not the best. And Molly S do not have a classy act. I would call it a messy act. Trying do a Loreen. I don’t buy it.

Saraha is like the Dinah Nah of Melodifesitvalen 2016. I hope she qualifies. ISA on the other hand is like Ellen Benediktson for me.

As long as ISA and Boris get through I’ll be happy. Boris will probably make it, while I’m heavily concerned about ISA. The Swedes really seem to love Kizunguzungu (which I absolutely detest)…
Such awkward pairings! I guess the producers want more entertaining boy groups and female pop-dance tracks in the GF because of Lisa, Sanden and Wiktoria’s ballads. I really want Molly PH to make it through….

Wow…Isa really has improved her vocals. She was a little shouty before but with the lighting I kind of imagine her to look like a goddess on stage. But I sadly love Kizunguzungu so much too.

Well we are not in it to win it this year. As the host country we just wants to send what’s our favorite song. The result isn’t that important for us this year.
I don’t agree with you. Frans charm is universal. With all the flashy and crazy silly numbers in Eurovision, Frans song will stand out(It’s also very current). I know we won’t win, but top 10 is very possible.

Loo.. Popular in Sweden doesn’t mean it will be popular in Europe. I really think that Frans will struggle to get a top 10 or even a top 15. Hope the juries will stop this madness! And I hope we end up sending someone else!
I SO want Isa to win her duel. But mark my words, she will not… SaRaha is the Hasse Andersson of the year. Like he beated out Kristin Amparo last year, SaRaha will do the same with Isa :/
However, AC this year is just a matter of fillers for the final and they will probably all end up at place 6-12 in the final.
Frans will win. You have no clue how popular that song is in Sweden atm x) It’s insane.

@MGR Rik indeed is the weakest song here, shouldn’t be in Andra Chansen and they don’t have a chanche of winning against none of these acts.
For me deserve to go to final Panetoz, Boris Rene, Isa and Samir and Victor (in that afful duel boys are better than Dolly Style with aful song this year, Hello Hi is 1000% much better that this year song from Dolly girls.
Sorry, Kizunguzungu song is for me one of worst song this year at MF, and Saraha don t sound good live and she don t have energy and harisma to perform that kind of song.
SaRaha is one of worst song this year at MF, I don t know how she go to second chance with that song.
Molly – Amazing voice and charisma.
Boris – Charismatic guy and catchy song.
Isa – Touching ballad and fantastic singer.
Samir & Viktor – Big hit already, fun, energetic live performance, the most memorable song in Andra
Now I’m sure that “Rik” is very weak.
I’ll be rooting for Molly, Boris, SaRaha and Dolly Style!
I wouldn’t mind Isa as well, too bad she and SaRaha are in the same duel, I love both.
I think Molly and Boris are almost sure, it will be a coin toss between Isa and SaRaha and unfortunately S&V will win over the Dollies with ease.
