Things just keep getting better for Margaret. Not only is she the favourite to win Eurovision overall, she has now won both our Krajowe Eliminacje readers poll and our Wiwi Jury. In fact, “Cool Me Down” achieved the highest Wiwi Jury score of the year so far, with a stunning 9.41, putting her in second place in the all-time jury rankings. Not only that, but she achieved 58% of the vote in our poll, with 1,656 votes cast in her favour. As such, she is our favourite to win Poland’s national final tonight and go on to Stockholm.
It might not be easy for Margaret, though. In second place with both the poll and jury was Polish Eurovision legend Edyta Górniak with her song “Grateful”. We might not have loved her 2016 entry as much as “To nie ja”, but Edyta’s fanbase will certainly push her towards victory tonight. In third place was Michal Szpak, another favourite before the contest. He placed third with the poll, but only fifth with our Wiwi Jury. “Colour of Your Life” seems popular amongst Polish fans though, which could be a real boost for Michal.

Watch our Poland song reactions
1. Margaret – “Cool Me Down”
The best: “Cool Me Down” is an utterly infectious summery pop stomper, performed by the superb Margaret. Casual Eurovision viewers only hear songs once or twice, and after one listen to this they will be hooked. With an inventive stage show, “Cool Me Down” has the potential to make a massive impact in Stockholm and give Poland its first ever win. (Jason, 10/10)
The worst: This has a great beat and gets you moving. It’s also a little bit different and the voters tend to reward that. So by any measure, a good entry. Any yet I didn’t like it that much. It’s sort of on the edge of being something just making a lot of noise. It isn’t that, but it comes close to being so. (David, 7/10)
Poll result: 1st, 1,656 votes – 58%
Wiwi Jury: 1st – 9.46
2. Edyta Górniak – “Grateful”
The best: This song makes me feel really special. It has a strong, mysterious message with a unique dark aura. Of course, as always, Edyta’s vocals just slay. I’m a bit scared people won’t like it because it’s not ultra pop. But when she sings “Feeling and knowing that there is something around me,” I can really feel that something, that atmosphere. That makes that song really special. (Marek, 10/10)
The worst: There’s something odd about the recorded version of this song. In the early stages, it sounds too casual, like Edyta is just murmuring into the microphone and not putting much performance energy into the song. Yeah, she busts out the big notes later on, but the contrast makes it come across more like showboating than a heartfelt emotional outpouring. There’s little to love. (Robyn, 5/10)
Poll result: 2nd, 417 votes – 15%
Wiwi Jury: 2nd – 7.31
3. Michal Szpak – “Colour of Your Life”
The best: I’ve been a fan of Michal Szpak for a long time. I love his voice, his energy and his musical style (and his hair). However, I fear that 2016 will not be his year for Eurovision. “Colour of Your Life” is a great song, but he faces stiff competition in the form of Margaret and Edyta Gorniak. (Jason, 8.5/10)
The worst: This might be my definition of “underwhelmed”. I really like Michal’s voice, but the lyrics to “Colour of Your Life” sound incredibly cliché. Not only that, but if I’m going to read Bianca from the UK for her “demo track” backing, then I have to do the same for Michal. There’s just nothing that makes me want to see this at Eurovision. (Chris, 5/10)
Poll result: 3rd, 315 votes – 11%
Wiwi Jury: 5th – 6.42
4. Natalia Szroeder – “Lustra”
The best: We have a winner! The song moves without going overboard. She can sing and does a great job with it and the camera loves her. With the right staging, this could hit the top 10 in Stockholm. It has exactly the right balance of taking you to highs and lows without overplaying them. (David, 9.5/10)
The worst: The Polish Preslava is making an attempt to crack Europe with this tune, but just like her look-alike, 2016 won’t be her year. “Lustra” fails to make an impact, or strike a chord with foreign ears. Also, it goes on and on with every ad-lib Natalia belts towards the end. Without the video, this is music that’s easily ignored. (Deban, 5/10)
Poll result: 7th, 69 votes – 2%
Wiwi Jury: 3rd – 6.81
5. Dorota Osinska – “Universal”
The best: I have a real feeling that when performed live, Dorota will knock this one completely out of the park. I think that, if anything, she’s being held back a little bit in the studio version. I’m not a huge fan of the ending of “Universal”, but it’s probably one of the most authentic ballads I’ve heard in this NF season. Again: it’s not a winner, but this stands up very well for me. Maybe lose the Valentina-esque red dress, though? (Chris, 7.5/10)
The worst: Yawn. More fantastic voices lost in bland peace ballads. Dorota’s vocals are incredible, but her song is so boring and predictable that they don’t get any time to shine. “Universal” is bland, and you don’t go anywhere with bland ballads. (Luis, 3/10)
Poll result: 4th, 130 votes – 5%
Wiwi Jury: 8th – 4.54
6. NAPOLI – “My Universe”
The best: This is really good. A great song, a talented singer, and it gets a hold of you and holds you the whole way through. And the camera likes her. This will need more to be a strong contender in Stockholm, but with some work it could well be very good. (David, 9/10)
The worst: Closer to abysmal than good, this should be taken as the universal truth. This song is lacking in direction, and I am questioning its purpose. Qualification or not, composers should be submitting entries that could fence off 40+ other songs. “My Universe” should have been quashed on its first hearing! (Deban, 2/10)
Poll result: 5th, 105 votes – 4%
Wiwi Jury: 7th – 4.96
7. Kasia Mos – “Addiction”
The best: This is the first song I’ve heard where the studio version is worse than the live version. This isn’t just a comment on the terrible music video, but the song as a whole. At least now we know Kasia’s voice is much better live, which is good for Eurovision. The song is really good, so modern — I would compare it to Aminata’s “Love Injected”. It has a lot of high notes which won’t be a problem for her voice. (Marek, 8.5/10)
The worst: The composition of “Addiction” is generally solid. Kasia’s vocals are also very strong. Unfortunately when you put it all together, it feels like a hot mess — there’s an amazing beat in the background that sounds great on its own, but completely overpowers her vocals when you look at the whole package. She’ll be great live, but she could use a better song. (Antranig, 4/10)
Poll result: 6th, 76 votes – 3%
Wiwi Jury: 6th – 5.81
8. Ola Gintrowska – “Missing”
The best: Ola may not be the voice of Poland, but her effort here is fabulous! “Missing” evokes deep emotions, yet remains mercilessly catchy. As the melody registers, Ola’s smoky tones pushes forward — leaving one with a shimmer of vintage glamour. The production here is classy and tastefully delivered. (Deban, 8.5/10)
The worst: “Missing” is one of those radio-friendly songs that would never climb higher than the 20th place in an airplay hit list. Therefore, it’s not suitable for a Eurovision stage, where you need to stand out and not pass by unnoticed. More so than that, Ola’s voice does not exactly enhance the song: her low tonality makes the song a bit boring, and in some parts it sounds like a mid-tempo lullaby. (Luis, 4/10)
Poll result: 8th, 58 votes – 2%
Wiwi Jury: 4th – 6.54
9. Taraka – “In the Rain”
The best: “In the Rain” is giving me the same laid-back street band feel as Elaïza’s “Is it Right”, with the same lazy beat and accordion. It’s ok, but like “Is It Right”, it wouldn’t be strong enough to really connect with a broad Eurovision audience. Poland is likely going to qualify no matter what they send, but a song like this wouldn’t bring a great grand-final result. (Robyn, 5.5/10)
The worst: I really don’t like this song. It’s not just the dodgy pronunciation or the super annoying na na nas. It’s everything about it. I really hope that Poland makes the right decision on March 5 by not selecting “In the Rain” as its Eurovision entry. (Jason, 1.5/10)
Poll result: 9th, 25 votes – 1%
Wiwi Jury: 9th – 3.15

Poles are morons! They rejected the best song! (Cool Me Down – MARGARET!!!!!!!)
Polaczki jak zwykle zaglosowali na wyjacego “wyciskacza lez”!! Cuuurva – wy nigdy zadnej eurowizji nie wygracie jak bedziecie glosowac tylko i wylacznie na takie wyjace piesni!!! Caly swiat zachwycony byl piosenka Margaret ale oczywiscie wyjec musial u was wygrac! Tfuuuu.. DEBILE!!!
I knew this could happen!
Denmark taught me a valuable lesson. I’m glad I didn’t get my hopes up too much. Poland just threw away their best chance of winning. Ever.
Edyta NAILED!
watch live final of polish preselection on youtube
https://www.youtube.com/c/minesathd/live
I really hope Edyta goes on and wins Krajowe Eliminacje. Margaret may have a good song but her fandom is too obnoxious – an obnoxious fandom can bring down a favored contestant – that’s how Eric Saade did not win Melfest last year and Mans won instead (look, Mans may come off as obnoxious but his fans aren’t and he isn’t actually obnoxious too). How the fans of an entrant act are just as important as how the entrant acts – that, along with the song that the entrant sends. You know why Polina Gagarina made it to second place… Read more »
TBH, the a good number of those Margaret fans are quite obnoxious – so much that they make the people who go on YouTube comment wars in the videos of Azerbaijan and Armenia’s ESC entries look like they’re more mature at handling arguments. Try saying that you want someone other than Margaret to win and you’ll get a bunch of passive-agressive tweets directed towards you. Even the Barei fans weren’t like this to people who had favorites other than Barei at the Spanish NFs – that’s even with the fact that Barei was seen to win the Spanish NFs. If… Read more »
MARGARET <3
magarets and wiktoria are the best songs this year because this year is absolutely rubbish or maybe last year was just a good year narrr this year is just full of low quality songs
You can watch it here:

Please give me a stream link of final i cant find it nowhere (
I initially couldn’t help but root for Edyta, but then after hearing Margaret’s song I was torn. Now I hope Margaret wins, and Edyta comes back next year with an even better song, and possibly represents Poland on home soil.
Why did Edyta have to come back this year of all years, and face one of the strongest songs ever featured in a Polish selection?
Of course, they could do a Denmark – neither of “the fans” top two won there, with a surprise result. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen here.
Margaret song is overrated in my opinion…. though i usually am in favour of upbeat songs I have to say that Edyta has a really great song and I hope she wins.
Margarets song also sounds quite outdated.. something you would hear at any radio stations back in 2003….
well, Margaret’s song is in so outdated style. Santogold sang such a songs back in 2008.
Edyta’s song is so boooring! Margaret is awesome singer. GO POLAND!
I like Margaret’s song… for about 1 minute, then it just repeats itself over and over again. A pity, she seems like a very good singer who would bring some (desperately needed) new and up to date style music to Eurovision
Taraka is the best.
In my opinion, the outcome of this final may determine the outcome of ESC 2016. I can’t wait! 🙂
I genuinely believe that Margaret should win Krajowe Eliminacje tonight because “Cool Me Down” would be a great addition to the number of uptempo modern songs this year. There was a lot of hype surrounding Russia’s entry, but considering it was somewhat of a let down for some, I think there’s room for one big pop track, and that room should be reserved for Margaret’s song. If some of you did your research on YouTube, you would have noticed that Margaret can sing live, especially during acapella. I hope the viewers in Poland will do the right thing by voting… Read more »
@EugeneESCUK the winner will be decided by 100% televote, and i wish Edyta wins
I think that Cool me Down will be the Poland entry in Stockholm, BUT it;s not a winner song because the singer. Margaret is not good live. Her voice or her performance are dull.
@EugeneESCUK, I think Margaret will win Eliminacije but will painfully lose in her semifinal, because juries will hate this for sure. With her below average vocal skills, the best she can hope for is a 8th-10th place (which isn’t bad) like Beth’s “Dime” did in 2003
Only Edyta. I hope she will win
looking forward to her possibly hot mess vocal performance tonight!
I want them to choose Margaret cause the song is modern, cool, catchy and has a great production & potential for a big & bold performance. Polish victory would be more than ground-breaking plus I’d be so grateful (like Edyta) if Margaret gets the chance to perform at ESC.
She only will end up Top 5, if she sings well live^^ and in my opinion she doesn’t!
Edurne and especially Elhaida Dani didn’t deliver on esc 2015 with their live-singing^^ although they were quite favourites (more based on their studio versions).
Margaret can’t sing and she has no charisma at all. Choose Edyta or Michal if you don’t want to fail like Estonia in 2011.
If there is any fairness left in these national finals Margaret should win. The song is cute, catchy and fresh. It would definitely do well in ESC and maybe it is time for a first time winner, like Poland or Iceland, instead of another win of a country that is always in top 5.
1) GRATEFUL – 8/10
2) COOL ME DOWN – 6/10
3) UNIVERSAL – 5/10
4) MISSING – 5/10
5) ADDICTION – 4,5/10
6) IN THE RAIN – 4,5/10
7) COLOUR OF YOUR LIFE – 4/10
8) LUSTRA – 4/10
9) MY UNIVERSE – 4/10
Margaret has to be chosen. I don’t know if Poland has the power (and wants) to win Eurovision, but I predict that this song will probably end in TOP5 and can maybe win Eurovision. It has the right formula: it’s very modern and fresh and it’s very different from others Eurorivision songs.
In terms of personal liking, this is going to be (if it wins) my new number one of my TOP. I just love it, it’s modern, it’s cool, it’s has a very good vibe and its awesome!
Of course this wont win ESC 2016- it is good, very good in fact, but not a “Eurovision song.” Probably will qualify, then end up top 15 I predict.
Edyta has a beautiful voice, but her song is boring. I think Dorota’s voice is even more beautiful than the voice of Edyta. Universal is a ballad, but gives more excitement. The song Margaret is not to my taste, but I think it has the best chance at a good place, and maybe even to win. I heard her perform live, and she really has a good voice. So … I think that the song Margaret can conquer Europe, because it is modern and fun to be with her playing and Doota could impress her strong and clear voice. Her… Read more »
Of course Poland will not win ESC 2016 even if the bookmakers will always believe in it.
Winner Margaret – Eurovision 2016…????
