Last week he wowed us with his first live performance of “You Are the Only One” at a concert in Kursk.

And on Saturday Russia’s Sergey Lazarev did it again with another solid performance of his Eurovision 2016 track, filmed for the Russian version of “Dancing with the Stars”.

The performance, which appears to have been pre-recorded, carries much of the choreography we first saw in Kursk — including the jerky arm motions and super sexy flirting to the camera.

It’s high-energy, slick and urban, and fits the club banger oh-so-well.

Scroll down for video

Things certainly are heating up as we move closer to the big night in Stockholm, with contestants performing their songs here, there and everywhere.

The steaming Sergey Lazarev is no exception and the bookies’ favourite really smouldered during his performance on DWTS.

Even without LED floors and walls he managed to create major atmosphere, much of it provided by his four dancers — two men, two women. Is it possible they will join him in Stockholm, deploying similarly fierce choreography? We’re thinking yes.

Sergey, who recently tantalised us with a scintillating beach selfie on Instagram, wore all-black, including two leather wristbands. They add darkness and edge to this uplifting clubland track.

Are you happy to see us, or what?

Great entry if we were in the 90’s ! So outdated. Polina’s song was 100x better last year !

@Anton

i don’t want to argue with you, what i’m trying to say is, Russia had a better song and singer last year with Polina, one of my favourite songs last year

i just say there are better songs this year, especially in semi final 1 🙂

semi final 2 is the weakest semi final, definitely

@Nicky91
Well, may be it’ not the best song this year, but I think it’s deserves to win as a whole package. It will be so very different on the Eurovision stage, far more powerful and spectacular. I can not vote for it, so my favorite this year will be Latvia or Italy.

@Anton

are you Russian? i’m also on a different forum, and they also say this song is dated and awful

this song could be good, if it had a better singer, and not someone who sings it like this ( reminds me of a Alcazar song)

well i like other countries, who sent more 2016 style of music, like Bulgaria, Malta and Latvia

my own country, Netherlands also is quite dated crap, and Douwe Bob i don’t like his stage presence, which stage presence hahahahaha

It has fallen in a contradiction. First I want to say that I prefeer when he sang at the first time. Second: before, people said that they didn’t want that Lazarev dance in his coreography and now say that the coreography is too simple. I’m confussed 🙁

I have to agree with previous comments about (some of) the fans in the arena. They are utterly obnoxious. Booing and hissing and screaming and yelling and getting drunker and more boorish as the show goes on. They are an embarrassment. Why they get such good treatment from the organizers, I just don’t know. They go to contest after contest, and take up prime space in the arena. I personally think priority should be given to the local people, who may not have the chance to experience the show in person again and are the ones paying the huge costs… Read more »

Sergiej – very bad voice, the song may be, but the singer can not sing, vocal critical. Polina Gagarina – very nice voice and super vocal. My favorit in this year is Poland or Sweden

My prediction for top 5

1. France
2. Russia
3. Sweden
4. Armenia
5.Ukraine

Malta, Australia, Serbia, Latvia and probably either Crotia or Italy or Spain (the last 3 will compete for a spot in edging the top 10)

Yes, it’s not a beauty contest, otherwise Moldova or Netherlands would have already won.

Oh! And @Irina, we got the point by now: Sergey’s performance in Stockholm is going to be stunning, incredible, outstanding, super-high tech and unforgettable and Russia is a gay-friendly, gay-loving and gay-respecting country. For sure!

Rimig

It is a good product, though, if you are unable to look further. The guy is more or less hot and the song, despite its low quality, is catchy. It’s just sooo predictable and cheesy. Everytime I hear it I’m expecting him to sing “thunder and lightning, it’s getting excitening”.
I would like Italy or The Netherlands to win; two nice, high quality, easy-listening songs, although I preferred the whole-italian version of Francesca’s song

This could definitely win it. Great timing for a song like this, it wouldn’t have stood out a few years ago like it will stand out this year. The classic dancy ESC tune+dancers after those almost got extinct.

Lazarev will have good swedish back vocalists of Melodifestival and greece-swedish dancers. Who doubt in their professionality? Not think. Lazarev has good vocal, because I know. He will have high technology performance by Fokas Evangelinos.Who doubt in his professionality?? Not think. He will in top 3.

Please, stop telling people what they have to do. If people in Globen wants to boo at Sergey, well, we live in a (still) free continent; if the contest would be in Russia, they all would be arrested, most of them for being gay and the rest for expressing their opinions, but thank god the contest will be held in Sweden, which is a free country. and if Sergey represents his country in Eurovision, he must agree with the russian way of thinking, if not, I don’t think that we would be standing there in front of million of viewers… Read more »

@Marie, I’m sure girls would like to participate, but they constantly getting jailed for innocent things. once they had been caught on the street while wearing prison robes, holding bowls with water, at the attempt to wash something in that water they had a ride to police station. I guess if they will start their rehearsals for the ESC they can get yet another sentence 🙂 not to mention that regime orchestrated a solid hate towards them among Russian sheep population. artist who represents mother Russia have to be real fan of mr Putin. even Lazarev had to make up… Read more »

@ Eugene

Serbia is very much like France. Flawless production, sounds very contemporary (but in Serbia’s case, it sounds timeless as well), calculated to appeal to the maximum number of listeners. And I say that even though I am not their greatest fan (exactly because I see it as too calculated).

I expect them to fly very high in May. It does give me pause that they are currently underperforming in every major online poll, but it is a risk I’m willing to take with my prediction.

I think we’re going to see where the road is heading in Semi 1 as both France and Sweden will be included there. Frans, as the home boy, can steal the thunder VERY easily from Russia and build momentum for the final.

My predictions for top-10 this year in alphabetical order: Ten Highly Probable: Azerbaijan (Fierce girl with a catchy swedish pop confection) Australia (Well-produced diva ballad for a vocal powerhouse) Croatia (This year’s “fairy in the forest” is not scandinavian) Estonia (Cut and polished like a diamond, the definition of ’60s era coolness.) France (Surprise winner alert. Earworm and one very likeable performer) Hungary (Sounds as sexy as he looks) Latvia (Dark electronica for the masses) Russia (Sakis Rouvas reincarnation blowing up half of Russia’s budget) Serbia (Adele meets Amy Winehouse in a smokey Belgrade bar) Ukraine (Polarising and controversial like… Read more »

@Irina, try to follow this simple math. he can have up to 6 human beings on stage. his majesty + 5 others. he need back vocalists because he suck badly at vocal. and he need dancers to do his silly moves in some organized way. now do the math. if he’ll go with vocalists he will dance alone (or maybe with some doll?), or he will dance in the pack of leather boys and will sound terribly. What kind of show can resolve this situation to his advantage?

Loo
Loo

@bella That could very well happen. It will be a tight race once again 🙂 I still believe we will see some surprises this year with a couple of surprises in the top 10. Croatia, Spain and all the other fan wanks will flop though, as usual 😛

Despite being ridiculously catchy, I cannot get past how cheesy this song is. The line “Thunder and lightning, it’s getting exciting” is pure Belarus-level cheese on a stick, and when I first heard that key change my eyes must have rolled all the way to the back of my head. They’ve thrown everything and the kitchen sink into this song and performance. It has Eurovision written all over it. But I think (and hope) that the song contest has matured enough to the point where a song like this won’t storm to victory.
