After unexpectedly cancelling her Amsterdam appearance over the weekend, fans have been wondering why Agnete from Norway was MIA. Turns out, the Melodi Grand Prix winner is battling a virus infection.
The bad news doesn’t stop here, as Agnete has been forced to cancel all her other promotional tour dates. This means that she won’t be present in Tel Aviv, Bucharest, or London either.
Agnete has made the official announcement about her illness and tour cancellation via Facebook.
Dear all,
sorry for the lack of updates from me.
These last few weeks I have been battling a virus infection that seem to enjoy spending time with me as a host, trust me, it´s not a mutual feeling. This have kept me laying in bed for some time now, unable to do any work.
This infectious disease is transmitted to several of my friends, to the people who work with me and their friends/family who is now all suffering from what I am still battling.
Although I am recovering, I am not recovering quick enough to be able to do want I really want to do.After the cancellation in Amsterdam, we (myself, my doctor and the people I travel with) have decided that the best thing to do is take our time to fully recover. Our doctor has strongly advised us to not leave the country, this is for the concern of our health but also so we don´t infect any of the other artists/people/fans from the other countries.
Unfortunately this means that I, with a heavy heart, will have to cancel all of the upcoming events this week; Israel Calling, the TVR Eurovision Party in Bucuresti and The London Eurovision Party.
I am extremely sorry for any inconvenience regarding this, and I am terribly sorry for all the people who were looking forward to meeting me at these show. I have to prioritize the health of myself so I am in shape for Stockholm. On the upside you now won´t get infected!PS. I know many of you are asking about the music video! It is still being edited. I hope that we will be happy with result very soon!
Once again, I am so sorry!
Thanks for all the support and concern!Lots of Love, Agnete
Whilst we are sad to miss Agnete at the pre-parties, we fully understand that she needs to take time to recover and get well before Stockholm, which is less than one month away. We wish her and her team all the best, so that they can put that “Icebreaker” in motion at full speed come Eurovision time!
Sabemos los Españoles ,lo que ha hecho Norwey con los marineros de nuestro pais.Sois muy excluyentes vais de pais moderno y desarrollado.
..pero pobres y egoistas Vikingos.Dais pena de paranicos que sois
@Nicky91. Did you know that people also accused Loreen and Euphoria for plagiarism. Euphoria sounds very similar to Dubja Ilic (a Serbian singer) song “Euforija” Even the name of the song is the same. It is not unusual that parts of song is similar to other songs. But “Icebreaker” is not a copy.
Hope she gets better soon. I’m guessing that the video’s got an actual icebreaker ship?
And yes, it’s ridiculous that whenever an artist says they’re sick, the haters are quick to jump on and blame drugs when the artists are already in a high stress environment.
I saw this post this morning. So sad that she is battling with that bloody infection for a long time! Hope she gets well
Astonishing, after a sincere letter and news about illness, people are still blabbering about how bad and what’s ‘wrong’ with the song?!? Seriously.
Show some compassion.
GET WELL, and GET READY for Stockholm.
All the Best, Love and Sucsess! <3
Agnete! Get well soon! You are my favourite.
You gotta appreciate the effort these guys put in. All this prep has to be very stressing.
I would never like to go through this amount of overloaded work, compressed in this short period of time. Health problems are bound to occur.
Seriously though, this is Norway’s worst entry in years. The chorus is horrible. ”I’ll be your icebreaker, when you’re stuck in frozen water” The way she pronounces water is more annoying than San Marinos entry. I hope it fails to qualify.
@jPod, but this song is honestly it sounds really similar to Chandelier and Euphoria and I Feed you my love
@Nicky91
Not every dance song at Eurovision is a “clone” of Euphoria. Maybe you should do your research and you will know there have been dance songs long before Loreen won.
That’s a thoughtful, earnest message. I hope Agnete and her team get better as quickly as possible!
the Chandelier + Euphoria cloned song, doesn’t deserve to qualify anyway
Get well soon, hope you break the ice of that virus 🙂
“What’s MIA?”
Missing In Action. It’s a military-related term.
Get well, Agnete!
What’s MIA?
Get well soon Agnete~
Wish her a speedy recovery. What a pity!
get well soon, Agnete 🙂
