Czech-Slovak Idol runner-up Gabriela Guncikova was internally selected to represent the Czech Republic with the song “I Stand”. It’s an emotional ballad, where Gabriela pays tribute to a person who helps her stand tall — “I am standing here just because of you”.
The song begins with Gabriela singing of her struggles in life — “I’ve worn the path / I’ve hit the wall /I’m the one who rose and fall”. But she hasn’t been doing it alone. Despite all the challenges she’s faced, “But in the end / You’re standing there /You’re the one who always cares”.
This leads to the big chorus, with Gabriela singing the praises of her rock. “I am standing here / Just because of you
