The first rehearsals for the Eurovision 2016 acts will only begin on Monday. But inside the Globen — the Eurovision 2016 arena — rehearsals are already in full swing. Opening acts, interval acts, voting segments, stand-ins rehearsals — producers have a lot to prepare for ahead of the artists’ actual arrival. After all, they don’t want the pyro setting anyone on fire…
Can’t wait to see Samra from Azerbaijan on stage? Well here’s what you can expect. The footage from her stand-in rehearsal shows that she will stand centre stage with a series of dancers surrounding her, creating a very modern and urban mood that befits her tune. The stage is flooded with lots of yellow spotlights.

Zoë from Austria will recreate her colorful music video and walk on her famous treadmill. This industrial-scale treadmill definitely isn’t available in a store near you! The stand-in wears a black dress — will Zoë also go dark?

This year’s host and last year’s winner, our dear Måns Zelmerlöw, will open the first semi final of Eurovision 2016 with a different version of “Heroes”. It will include an army of kids on stage — part of his anti-bullying message — which fans will recognise from this year’s Melodifestivalen final.
Our host Petra Mede is also busy with rehearsing the voting segment and points delivery. Bonne chance ma chérie.

What about some pyro, you’re asking? It’s getting hot in the arena with some major fire tests for the Armenian entry, it’s definitely going to be hot.

Rehearsals with the actual artists kick off on Monday. Stay tuned for our reactions and more!
kids. again. I love kids in real live, don’t get me wrong, but I hate how they sing. it ruins my nerves. kids should grow up and sing only when their voice will finish mutation and when they will learn how to hit notes properly. when their voice will gain depth and suitable range. Before that happens, they should do their homework, read books and visit their vocal teacher couple of times per week to learn techniques and history of music. not yelling with their out-of-tune voices from the stage of world arenas.
maybe the dancer double as backing vocalists in azerbaijan’s performance because they need someone to sing “mira mira miracle” during the bridge…
The Melodifestivalen acoustic version of “Heroes” was phenomenal! I can’t wait for the Stockholm version which hopefully won’t be much different.
The Swedish preview Jury panel has totally butchered Iceland. No Love for Greta at all. Only San Marino and Montenegro scored less. And Wiktoria totally hates Zoe.
Armenia : O Okay that’s gonna be hot
I feel tgat Armenian entry is gonna be hot! Can’t wait))) I hear part of lovewave in last video. Is cameraman walking around on the stage? 😀
Please no more kids. Please leave the children out of this sick contest!!
Stage effects will be perfect this year ! I can’t wait !
@DenizNL
so no backing singers for Samra, well Samra isn’t the best singer, she would’ve really needed the backing singers i think, maybe she can throw her charm in the song 🙂
The Azerbaijani team should’ve invested more in backing singers, but I like the dancing.
And what’s up with a child’s choir every year.
The stage is looking good….. But, nothing beats 2014 yet!!!!
I don’t want loads of Swedish kids dancing to heroes, I want more stick men 🙁
It reminds me of 2006 stage in Greece. Not my favourite…2009 stage in Russia still unbeatable.
I just don’t like the stage.
Vienna last year was sexier. I admit, its camera work was dreadful, but the stage itself was charming. This year it is the other way round – the camera work will be brilliant, while the stage…no.
@Alex
well we could’ve expected this from a sickly sweet song, Zoe seems a really likeable nice girl, but this kinda looks like a Junior eurovision staging i agree with you on that 🙂
Mans is so bangable.
Zoe’s background disappoints it. It looks like a child’s painting, so junior eurovision.
She should have kept the national final one.
LOL! Sneak PEAK? Really? http://theoatmeal.com/comics/sneak_peek
@Robert
well Samra’s staging disappoints me a little, because i wanted really awesome staging to go with this dull song 🙁
@YoungsterJoey
great to see you supporting your favourites as well 🙂
Samra’s staging looks really messy. Definitely there is room for improvement!
Zoe’s staging looks very interesting. Staging help her to be remembered for sure!
Also, probably Armenia and Russia will use the fire effects. Really interested to see what Malta will do with the whole ‘Walk on Water’!
Samra disapoint me…but I will wait for the whole result
Samra should decrease the number of their dancers. It is hard to focus on her because of her dancers’ too many movements.
aww azerbaijan performance this year is kinda tame… 🙁 hopefully there will be a costume change or something to spice things up!
Azerbaijan and Austria in semifinal 1, so perhaps Sunday we’ll get snippets from seminal 2.
As long as Estonia, Iceland, Austria advance.
Mans serving some pinocchio realness
And I see that the armenian delegation will use the pyros at its full capacity
Think Armenia will challenge Azerbaijan being called The Land of Fire after seeing those fire effects. You can lightly hear LoveWave during the pyro
What was cool.on a videoscreen looks downright creepy in real life
You can hear LoveWave playing in that last Pyro effects video! I hope Iveta has some awesome fireworks :D.
We will bring you the best contest EVER! 🙂 Welcome!
