On May 11, Eurovision stars and fans will #ComeTogether at Stockholm’s Hard Rock Cafe for the inaugural #WiwiJam. Kicking off at 6pm and running until late, the event is free and open to everyone. Due to overwhelming interest, you’ll need a ticket to enter. You can reserve your ticket here. Come listen to the stars live, meet the team behind wiwibloggs and absorb the atmosphere of one of Stockholm’s premiere music venues. You can admire memorabilia from the likes of Madonna, Michael Jackson, Nirvana, Slash and ABBA — and create some new memories of your own! And surely those memories will include our ninth confirmed act. Oo la la!
Amir from France at #wiwijam
Eurovision is an international event and France’s Amir embodies that better than anyone. His roots run deep and far, spanning Tunisia, Morocco and Spain. Born in France, his family moved to Israel when he was a child and he later rose to fame at Kokhav Nolad — the Israeli version of Pop Idol. After moving back to France, he finished third on The Voice of France and was selected internally as France’s representative for Eurovision 2016. He is currently one of the big favourites to win the contest and is definitely France’s best chance in years. He’s our favourite dentist and his smile melts our hearts. It’s Amir!
His song “J’ai cherché” left the Wiwi Jury on its knees. As one of our jurors wrote:
France are in it to win it! J’adore. Amir’s vocal is sick, the song is slick and the production is crazy amazing. The franglais is to die for, the lyrics are beautiful and the beat thumps along irresistibly. I deny anyone across the continent to not be tapping their toes by the end of it and begging for more.
During our interview at Eurovision in Concert, Amir made it clear that he already feels like he’s won — regardless of the result.
“I never expected that my music will get to so many ears and receive so much love for what I’m doing, especially after I only started two years ago, so I’m so happy.”
And he’s taking his responsibility very seriously.
“It’s a risk both for the artist, but I think especially for the country. You need to understand that you’re representing a nation in front of a whole continent. And the image of a nation in front of a continent is important and it can sometimes be tarnished by a bad or a disappointing performance. I wouldn’t like to be the one that is bringing this disappointment to my country in front of Europe. I don’t want to shame my people.”
Now you will be able to hear Amir’s perfect live vocals and feel his charisma live at the #wiwijam. The venue is intimate, so you’ll be able to taste his sweat!
We still have artists yet to be confirmed so stay tuned…
@Stephanie, I’ll say something positive. I like Amir and his song message. It reminds me about Japanese and their attitude towards own dreams. and as Japanese respect others efforts to fulfill own dreams, I respect Amir for this song. It is important to give faith and to encourage people. In the addition I like his voice and simple visual appearance. His singing is still not perfect but gradually improving, he just lacks experience. I see no reason why he should be hated or why he should flop. He’s no worse than Frans or Lazarev, in terms of voice and song… Read more »
Loo, I’m sorry to say I think you’re going be to be disappointed. I really hope France do well, don’t get me wrong – but you seem to be getting your hopes up a lot. It is far from certain he will even advance on last year.
please*
France is the frontrunner now 🙂 Plese don’t mess this up! This is your chance!

@Did027
Stop the promotion of France now! Don’t you understand that you are being ridiculous?
@Homer
It’s reality and you have to accept it, you have mental disorders and you need to see a psychiatrist soon! Also, if you don’t like Eurovision then why are you here? Actually, I know the answer: you have problems and you get happy when you insult other people. But no more, that’s enough! I am not going to tolerate it! Go find a way to solve your psychological problems and leave me alone!
OR,
Wait a moment…you prefer Russia’s garbage over France? And i’m the one with bad taste in music? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA! If we were in 2000, i think it would be a worthy winner but times have changed. “I read today that sergei is gay so maybe he will do something for gays rights in russia+ he is a very nice person”. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA, this is hilarious! This is why i love wiwiflops, i can laugh daily with all this nonsensical comments…

georgekirkas,
Mental disorders? Calm down your tits and shut the hell up. Do you really think i’m sad about the fact that my country will not participate in this pop cheesy fest? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Now, you must respect other comments but instead you’re here bashing France’s entry. Don’t be hypocrite and false!
@georgekirkas
Maybe YOU got bad taste. Hahah
@Did027
We all know that OGAE clubs have very bad musical taste, it wasn’t necessary to give us the link.

@OR
Thank you for the support, Homer has mental disorders!
@Homer
“Persons”… Ha ha ha, darling you need to start English lessons!
@Homer
You are the only idiot here 🙂 dont talk to @georgekirkas like that … she respect every one here, and she tells her opinion.. so how is it hypocrite? and she will say whatever she want to say,,, and i agree with her… you are the one with the really bad taste in music!!!! pathetic
@Homer
First of all, go learn some English, you misspelled my name! Second of all, I won’t sink to the level of a poor pathetic person who has a complex because his country doesn’t participate in Eurovision this year! Finally, you are the one who should get ready for the hard flop of France! Go hang out with people like Anton and see you in 15 May!
“I know, if this wins then it is probably gonna be the worst Eurovision winner ever! Even “Running Scared” and “Believe” were better”
If you really think anything is worse than “Running Scared” with that half-assed singing and laughable ‘dancing’ then you must be tone deaf.
georgiakirkas,
Weren’t you who was always saying to me “respect other persons opinions”? HAHAHAHAHAHA, how hypocrite and idiot you are! Your stupid music taste will not have an impact at May, so get prepared for a huge let down. GO AMIR!
@georgekirkas
🙂 🙂
@Stephanie
Of course I can. Amir’s song is happy and catchy. The verses are the best part of the song. However, I don’t think that it’s a winner. There is nothing exciting and it doesn’t have this “wow” factor that all winners have. I have given it a 7,5/10 and I want it to do well, still though I don’t even want to see it in the top 10.
Can some of the negative people at least find something positive to say about Amir and his song?
@OR
Thank you for your nice words! Nicky91 lives in Eindhoven, but I don’t know how old he is.
@georgekirkas @Nicky91
