Rykka sings that she’s not afraid to be brave and she lived up to that during her first rehearsal at Eurovision 2016. From her outfit to her hair to her staging this was cavalier and crazy.

The act opens with a close-up of Rykka, whose bra appears to be on fire and emitting smoke. As the camera pans out her daring sartorial choices come into sharper focus. She pairs a black and bejewelled tank top with a see-through skirt, showing off her slim pins and perfect panty line. It sounds like a hot mess, but this is a hot mess on ice — bringing the heat yet remaining decidedly cool.

The LED is simple yet effective, creating a blue fantasyland that is at once futuristic and classic. The floor takes on a variety of guises, at times looking like a starry sky and squiggly sperm. Inspired by nature, Rykka stands beneath a digital waterfall and also performs a minute-long pee-pee dance in which she stands in place bobbing like her bladder is about to pop.

She is getting the help she needs vocally to carry this song but there is still not enough interesting things going on in it to keep a listener hooked for three minutes. I like that she shook up her styling as I was not buying the blonde hair, white dress look.
This should not qualify but it could.

She should get rid of the curly hair, yes. Otherwise I think this looks good. I’m really glad she uses backing vocalists, it really elevates the song.
I think she’s got a shot at borderline qualifying. But it’s us, Switzerland, performing 3rd, so… :/

BB Australia did the same mistake last year when someone who did know one of those who made “A million voices”, and the Australian jury 12 pts goes to… Russia, but the televoiting made the 12 pts go to my country instead.
Greetings from the country of Lisa Ajax!

That is good news. But EBU must change 2 others members of juries from 2 countries. In Australia juries we have that one members wrote lyricks for Greece 2009, and in Germany we have one members of juries who was jugde members , when Iveta participated in Voice of Germany.
Wiwibloggs ask EBU about some jury member from Germany and Australia

Improved in my eyes! Voice also got stronger and mainly on point.

Let’s see how it looks with other camera angles, but this definitely is in the fight to qualify!

SVT did listen to me, and switched Wiktoria for Lisa Ajax as jury member, no worries about spoilers in Inför Eurovision.

Amazing song and interesting performance. This has to qualify, although I think it won’t.

Rykka is standing under a blue waterfall and doesn’t get wet. “Dirty pop” I think is the term for this, indeed William – I can see what you mean here.
The good news musically is that the performance is good and the backing vocalists enhance the song. I think that Switzerland still won’t qualify, but it may not be last any more. 🙂

@Kane I would say the same about Ireland also, Ryan Dolan was underrated in 2013 though but Kasey Smith was a terrible choice for Ireland, Molly Sterling was also slightly underrated but I think staging and her lack of experience let her down. This year, Nicky’s song is quite bland and uninspiring, but compared to others I think he deserves to qualify.
But anyway, this article is about Switzerland so I think I’m quite entitled to give my opinion on Swiss entries 😉

They will have fireworks, so that makes things interesting. I like the performance and song.

darren, you can’t criticise switzerland for sending boring songs when ireland have sent incredibly bland songs since 2013

since jedward left there has been nothing good ireland have sent and this year will not change that

Switzerland should get rid of the online National selection and choose for an internal selection. That could really help them

This doesn’t sound too promising, this sounds like a hot mess imo. The song was already bland. Switzerland need to stop with the boring songs. They always fail to qualify because they come to Eurovision with the most boring monotone ballads known to mankind! The one time that they have qualified, in 2014 with Sebalter, it was with the catchy and upbeat Sebalter, take the damn hint Switzerland! 🙂 Rant over.
