He is making our hearts flutter! Justs from Latvia has just completed his second rehearsal of his song “Heartbeat” at Eurovision 2016. There is not a whole lot of difference between his first rehearsal and his second rehearsal – only polishing and tightening minor issues present in the first rehearsal.

Just like the first rehearsal, the staging for “Heartbeat” is just an amped up version of what we saw at the Latvian national final. Justs still looks as handsome as ever, this time rocking a black leather jacket instead of his trademark burnt-red jacket. His voice is phenomenal. He hits every note with precision and ease. Maybe he’s caught some of that Burkina Faso realness from his gal pal Aminata.

The noticeable improvement in the second rehearsal is the camera angles. Everything is smooth and flowing like caramel, opposed to the sharp camera angles we saw in the first rehearsal.

Everything about the rehearsal today worked like a well oiled machine. This is completely ready to hit the Eurovision stage in the second semi-final.

Great song.

JUSTS, please change the jacket back to red. Everything seems to be too black and white.

‘Slays’? … Not feeling it. Awkward performance. No charisma or connection. The only thing that was slain here was the cow that made his dreary leather jacket…and possibly our eardrums.

I’ll be mad if this doesn’t get a top 10.

I dred a day wth Josh (the writer), probably uses “Realness” and “Slay” in every 12th word he says.

Thanks for the video.

Justs is amazing and the more I watch his rehearsals the more I am convinced he is the one to beat ….. Latvia you are everything this year. Good Job

For me “Heartbeat” is even better than “Love injected”. Together with Ukraine, Latvia is my definite favourite this year. I don’t expect Latvia will win (my favourites almost never do), but I hope and think top 10 is within reach. I will certainly televote for Justs.

Are these performances meant to come out quite as blue as they are? I mean, Justs’ song cannot be with bluish staging….right?

No impact, so going first not optimal for Latvia. I’m sure juries will vote this top 3 for this semi, but I have to see the rest before I say its a sure qualifier.

This will definitely qualify but I doubt it’s gonna do as well as people think

Like it! Is blue fashionable this year? I missed that! A pity I don’t fancy so much the last part of the song with the ‘you are all I need, you are the air that I breathe’. Good luck! You deserve final though.

Score based on jury criteria 6/10

Takes a while to get going but he certainly cranks it up towards the end. It’s a much better presentation than at the National Finals and he is more animated.

This is not in the same league as “Love injected” and nor is the staging, so I expect it to place lower than Aminata’s 7th last year. For me not Top 10.

I never liked this song but he sings well. It’s just to screamy all the second part.

This, Ukraine, Australia, Norway and Bulgaria are the obvious top 5, but maybe not in that order.

Loving Latvia this year, this will qualify! Probably in 3rd or 4th place.
