Michal Szpak asks “what colour is your life”, but after his second rehearsal, it became obvious that the Polish star’s colour was a red, in the form of brilliant crimson red jacket he took to the stage.

A change from the plain black wardrobe he wore to the first rehearsal, Michal was serving military fantasy with a crimson red jacket, accented with gold buttons and black epaulettes.

The camera angles were improved from earlier in the week, with much smoother shots, and swooping camerawork that reflected the epic sound of “Colour of Your Life”. It’s similar to the one he wore at the Polish national final, only with more flair.

Michal’s vocal delivery was also improved, offering a strong clear sound, proving he is more than able to deliver the rock opera drama of the song.

I like the song somehow and Michal’s vocals are stunning, but it would improve 200% if he would stop abusing of that annoying falsetto he ends most of the sentences with. Also, the staging is really unimpressive. Could have been a top 5, but will not reach that high anymore. A pity!

Not a fan of the background, neither of the projected lyrics. And did they really have to spell “is” with a double i ? Looks strange.

The song, the staging and the look is all very musical theatre (which I like by the way) but I do not know what else they could really do with it. This is the kind of performer that Michal is and I think Poland are making the most of what they have to work with.
This is going to the final and that is a fantastic achievement given the song.

This is actually staged very well. This could look stunning on the broadcast with the right camera cuts. The song does have a wide age appeal. Unless the juries hit it hard, this should qualify.

Looks as well as he sings. The red outfit is dignified.
The vocals are his 70% . Probably he’s saving his voice for next week.
I hope people will appreciate the beauty of this simple yet touching song delivered with stunning vocals.
Red is your colour Michal. 🙂

We should not rule out Poland as a possible contender for Top 3. Michal’s vocal performance might carry him.

Wait? What happened with the rising arms? I thought it was so good. Meh, has to do better if Poland wants to win.

You just know the writer of this post just wanted to say “military realness” in this post but opted for military “fantasy” 🙂 I joke of course, keep up the good work Wiwi, I’m loving the analysis and dedication to each participating country 🙂
