They don’t want you to feel alone, and Joe & Jake from the United Kingdom have just completed their first rehearsal of “You’re Not Alone” at Eurovision 2016 and we are feeling their presence. There’s so much about this performance that is so endearing and charming. Vocally, the two lads go together like black pudding to an English breakfast. The staging is simple yet effective. This surprised a lot of us!

The staging for “You’re Not Alone” starts of much like their video clip – a lot of lights with various hues of blue, purple and pink. It’s very on brand for Eurovision 2016. As the first bridge kicks in, the back LEDs are flooded with selfies of people of all different shapes, colours and sizes. They are driving home the “Come Together” message of Eurovision 2016.

A standout of this performance are Joe & Jake’s vocals. The harmonies between the two boys cannot be improved any further. The pair ooze charisma and charm and they both seem to feed off each other’s energy and they really enjoy performing with each other.

The final image of the performance is very sweet – Joe & Jake both walk towards the front of the stage, with their arms around each other. It’s a simple message of friendship and unity.

Might be a good performance but Let’s not forget the song is nothing special. Having said this, it’s quite interesting too see how it’s improving in the odds…. most of them are British betting for their own country hehe

Guys, well done! I’m from the UK, but I try not tone biased. The song is one of my favourites. You’re in my top 5 with Greece, Armenia, France and Sweden.

Apart from the selfies, I like it a lot. And Joe and Jake are such sweethearts, you have to love them.
No idea though how this will do, I’m not sure if it can make the left side of the scoreboard.

For a U.k staging it wasn’t that bad. It was O.K, beginning to aomething

These guys can sing, which is more than can be said for some entries. They deserve to be on the left side of the leader board, and up against some of the dreary efforts this year that’s got to be possible.

The presentation tunes into the lads’ best asset…their likeability.
I think in a contest where a lot of entries are taking themselves too seriously, this might just find itself a place. They might receive a few points.

They’re really putting a lot of effort on the staging this year. I’m just feeling a little iffy on the selfie projections being used as props though..

Two things that made me particularly proud to be Brit today: Joe and Jake made a pretty good show in Eurovision and Sadiq Khan was selected as mayor of London (first Muslim to take the position!). Great diversity, Great Britain

Its a good entry, the lads work well together and should be left hand side of the board.
Stayed pretty much true to the music video, am interested to see the whole song on 2nd rehearsals.
Well done Joe &Jake, you’ve made the uk entry this year credible.

The guys should finish inside the top 15. At least that’s what I hope for

Still one of the most forgettable songs of the year. B-O-R-I-N-G!!!!!!!! But I hope they will have fun:-) They ARE in the final and should enjoy that – never in a million years would this have qualified from a semifinal !

Brits getting their hopes up just because of good staging… this is eurovision SONG contest and you still have a forgetable, middle of the road song that will most likely end up bottom 5. And then you will blame europeans because they don’t like you, when did I saw this happening? ( pretty much every year…)

I really hope that they have good camera angles, it’s a TV show more than a concert and they need to connect with the audience at home. I’m breathing a huge sigh of relief that it’s not going to be a car crash and I can root for them along with my favourite entries.

Betting odds now around 50/1, pretty much blue across the board.

So, does UK finally see the left side of the scoreboard? The song is has the good vibe feel which should do well with the televote.

I never lost hope, these two have been my #1 of 43 since they won the NF. Im happy they getting the recognition they deserve for being completely underrated throughout the pre-season

Glad to hear that it’s better than Molly who had terrible staging for a great song. Cautiously optimistic this ends up between 10 and 15.

I think the UK could do okay this year! I estimate 11-16. If ‘Believe in Me’ could do that in a field of mediocre entries then I’m sure Joe & Jake’s entry will do well!
