Minus One recently won the wiwibloggs readers’ poll for favourite duo/group, and now the Cypriot band are delivering more of the rock sound that fans love. Despite the unusual name, the group’s new single “Potato Song (I Just Wanna Dance)” is a classic rock anthem full of swagger.
Don’t be alarmed by the title – there are no potatoes in “Potato Song”. Instead Minus One are bringing us a classic rock track, an ode to getting down – even when the object of your affections doesn’t feel the same way.
Lead singer Francois is in top form, as he rocks out on the chorus: “I just wanna dance with you/Get high on romance with you/I know I don’t stand a chance with you”.
And for anyone who felt that “Alter Ego” was perhaps a little too schlagertastic, “Potato Song” throws in a very satisfying guitar solo, a perfect excuse to play along on air guitar.
The group have released a lyric video, and “Potato Song (I Just Wanna Dance)” is now out on all digital platforms.

I like the music but the lyrics are terrible.
Rhyming “dance”, “romance” and “chance” is unforgivable. So many crap songs use these rhymes.

MFW Eurovision fans can’t tell the difference between this track and the Phil-Collins-Lite styro-crap they took to Eurovision.

Their Eurovision entry already was my fave, but this is also outstanding! Damn, I love this band. Eurovision brings great bands. First Softengine, now Minus One.
