Pull the shade on Rykka and she’s gonna lift it right back up.
Just ask the Swiss journalists who took a dig at her recently, declaring her Switzerland’s fiercest exercise guru because of her “enigmatic calisthenics” on the Eurovision stage.
Well Rykka thinks they are right — and it’s not just because of her totally unique and out-there moves from Stockholm.
Rykka recorded “Map Inside” for her 2013 album “Kodiak.” (You can buy it here).
The video is beyond hilarious and takes a playful jibe at 1980s aerobics classes — replete with the silly moves, colourful costumes and skin-tight spandex that defined an era.
Rykka nails the 80s fitness look, wearing a magenta leotard with cuffed shoulders, a pink fitness belt and truly hideous spray-on leggings in blue, yellow and silver — with countless spirals.
She plays a daring make-up game, applying dramatic blue eye shadow to one eye and a black spider to the other.
Musically this is on point. It has a vintage sound that seems to mate Fleetwood Mac and The Go-Gos (“We Got The Beat”, anyone?) and we will definitely be adding it to our Body Pump playlist.
The song’s meaning is up for interpretation, but we’re going to suggest it’s a motivational tale of perseverance and working hard to ensure you slay.
As Rykka says: “Stacking it up so high, breaking it down way low, butt on the mat, ’cause I go, go, go, go”
Yes you most certainly do.

Literally ANYTHING from Rykka is infinitely better than “The Last of our Kind”. I’m convinced that with a song like this or “Movies” would’ve secured her a place in the final, the problem was the incredibly bland song.
