Russia’s Eurovision 2016 representative Sergey Lazarev continues to wow audiences and collect accolades — as well as a lot of shiny new hardware.

On Thursday night the Russian heartthrob accepted two Muz TV Awards inside Moscow’s Olimpiyskiy Stadium. He walked away with Best Male Performer of the Year and a special award for his technically sophisticated performance of “You Are The Only One”. Just four weeks ago that performance took him to first place in the televote and third place overall in the Eurovision grand final.

Sergey hauled his magical screen back home from Sweden, and during the Muz TV Awards telecast, he dazzled with a repeat performance of “You Are The Only One” — equipped with modified staging and the original projections from Stockholm.

Lazarev was not the only Eurovision alum to leave the auditorium with at least one award in hand.

I`m sentimental. Animals and emotionally songs moved me so much:)

In this year Sergey is my personal winner. His song is still in my playlist. I listen also Dami Im, ZOE and Michal Szpak.

Never mind. Dima is the best, Sergey is crap. I recognise it and I’ve already asked Wiwibloggs to place a big article about Dima for you, you could see that.
Ceep calm, go to sleep, tomorrow Dima will be the only hero here.

(in a whisper) Poor Dima(((

Dima is too shrill.)) And he poorly sings in live in my opinion. He very often gives the microphone to the audience, it irritates me…
I can listen to him only in a studio recording! 🙂

@plum You made a big deal,with no sense,if they had producers.Anyway,i don`t care what you said(it is clear that Dima is better,all these years sergey is behind”him”.).I am happy that dima is still the only and one winner of russia,so it doesnt matter if u think lazarev is the winner because he is not.Please don`t continue it because i did a comment about this report,i didnt want argue with fans of lazarev.

I really like Dima. His song in 2006 is amazing. I cried when I listened it. In 2008 Dima came back with good song but not as better as in 2006. He deserved to victory because his song was the best in 2008. But in my opinion comparison Dima – Sergey is better for Sergey. His performance is better than Dima`s performance to “Believe”. But “Never Let You Go” is the same good like Sergey`s song:)

Also I really like “Ne Malchi”. Dima showed this song in live at last Friday. I have tears in eyes. After Sergey moved me:)

@Christina I am not a fan of any of them and I’ve never been. I’m sure you feel the difference between being interested and being a fan… mmm? I don’t find it bad that Dima has producers. It is possible for Sergey to have them too since he is well recognised but he doesn’t want and has no need to have them since he already is what he is. Still feel no difference? Discomfort? Well. Dear Wiwibloggs, Please don’t ignore Dima Bilan. He won ESC in 2008 and you must never forget this. It would be very noble of you… Read more »

@Maru fr. I don`t care if they prefer him because he is the only winner from Russia so far(if u are from Russia you should be proud of victory`s dima too).But we must not make them look like enemies(Jamala took the victory from ser.,not dima). Anyway,i think that dima doesnt care of wiwibloggs opinion,he is a big star to care about a blog.

@plum. I don`t know why u find it bad that dima has producers(sergey is well known in russia so it is very possible for him too).I don`t have problem if you aren`t fan of him anymore,my statement was that a euro-site like wiwibloggs ignore him in this report.

Please go on insisting that Wiwibloggs place a picture of Dima with two pates here=)
Of course I know Dima’s biography since, I’m telling you once again, I was interested about it 8-10 years ago.
Sergey hasn’t have any producers since the moment he left “Smash!!”. You should know when it happend if you were intrested as well. Do you know his biography, by the way?

christina
christina

@plum @maru fr You don’t know nothing about Dima.If u look his bio,you will see that he tried a lot to be the star he is today,he isn’t from a rich family.Do you think that Sergey doesn’t have producers?It is the same and if Dima has producers it is because of his talent.Europe voted him because of this.

I think you should be more persistant and Wwiwibloggs will place Dima’s portrait here=))
I rooted for Dima in both 2006 and I was upset because of that silly loss to Lordi but it didn’t hook me. I rooted for Dima in 2008 and I was happy he won though I completely disliked his song.
But there are so many small and large details about Sergey that make me sympathise with him much more than with Dima.
Sergey is a Personality. Dima is a Project. This is maybe the only difference between them=)) IMHO

How he bacame a “super star”? – Thanks to money of his producer!
Is he had a choreography? Lol I thought he just was lying on a floor!
Dima was pleasant to me then. But I was angry with him, bacause he has prevented Sergey… I supported Sergey then!

Ask Wiwibloggs what they think of the winner of 2008!

Jamala wouldn´t have placed 2nd without voting of turkish diaspora 100%.
Jamala wouldn´t have placed 2nd without politics.

christina
christina

@Maru fr .Dima was a super star,he came back to win in 2008 so he wanted his perfomance be perfect(Plushenko helped but the victory was not about the ice skating of course).He spent money in promo tour but Sergey did exactly the same.Plus,He had the same choreographer as Dima and Helena paparizou to help him win and the song was written by a legend of russian music F.Kirkorov.Russia wanted so desperately to win again,as you understand.

OK… Dima was lucky with produsers! They invested a lot of money in him!
Sorry, I don`t consider him very talented… And I think that in 2008 Plushenko was a winner, not Dima!))
PS As far as I know, Sergey never had a produser, because he likes to control everything!))

If jury voted in 2008, Dima Bilan and Ani Lorak would be so low. Iceland or Sweden probably won Eurovision.

Sergey Lazarev and Il Volvo gave so many points from televoters but both didn`t win. It`s ridiculous.

I agree with Ukraine`s issue. Jamala won Eurovision because of Turkish diaspora.

Glorious

@Alsou

I don’t know if she would have placed 2nd but she would have certainly be in the top 5.

@christina

I agree with you but I think Ukraine would have won with the juries in 2008 because Ani Lorak had a much stronger performance than Dima Bilan.

christina
christina

@plum I think that Dima would win with juries too(he had great perfomance,beautuful song). But now there are juries for years,we must acept it.Sergey isn’t the winner neither the girl from Australia.We must not turn down the juries,don’t separate the results of televoting/juries.The final winner is Jamala.

Alsou

and do you think that Jamala would place 2nd without turkish diaspora?
She was widely covered in the Turkish media. Moreover president of Turkey Erdogan congratulated her personally!

And…
“He (Dima) is the ONLY Russian winner,not second like Lazarev or Polina,don’t forget it.”
Don’t you forget please that in 2008 there was no juries and Dima won due to 100% televote.
Sergey won the televote this year even with a higher score. So what’s the difference between them? Their results could be compared only if there had been both televote and juries in 2008 as well.

Diaspora from Albania, Russia etc.? I don`t think. Szpak`s song is very emotionally so people loved it.

@christina
I don’t think you should be angry. It just so happened this year that every time Sergei turns out to be more interesting regardless of whether he won or lost. It doesn’t depend on the awards quantity especially taking into consideration that the “Best Performer” is tha main one.
Of course Dima is very good too, there is no denying it.

Glorious

Poland placed 3rd with the televote mainly because of their diaspora. Otherwise, they would have probably finished 15th or even lower.

Sergey deserved to award in cathegory: “the best show”. His tournee “The Best” is very amazing. I disappoint result. I supposed Sergey or Dima Bilan won in this cathegory. Eventually Polina Gagarina. First place to Danila Kozolovsky is surprise, bad surprise.

@Maru fr Well,who is better,Sergey or Dima it is another deal,a personal taste(for me it is clear who is better even if you look how many awards has taken Dima and how Sergey all this year ).Anyway,i am not upset with your opinion. BUT the blog should do a bigger reference to Dima.I got angry that they ignore him(maybe they don’t like his song but that doesnt’ mean something)He was the BIG winner at awards(sergey took only one,for the second award people didn’t vote).

@karminowe.usta
Oh, I’ve just realized that you were talking not about Eurovision but MTV Music awards.
Then yes, Sergey’s win was more deserved this year, not only because of Eurivision. And it was quite predictable.

karminowe.usta
karminowe.usta

@Plum
Because of jury Russia and Poland hadn`t chance to victory in this year. Jury was very political. In first semi-final jury gave Sergey 12 points, in grand final jury classified Sergey at 23 rd and 26 th place. It`s impossible but true.

Plum
Plum
7 years ago

@karminowe.usta

I wouldn’t exactly say that Sergey deserved it more than Dima Bilan but it just so happened that Sergey’s participation turned out more dramatic when he was prevented from winning by the juries at the last moment.
And btw I’d prefer Sergey to perform with his own ballet instead of that disattracting LED screen, this way he would have a better chance to reveal what he is capable of.
Here in Russia we know it but most people in Europe don’t.
Htough unfortunately he had no chance to win this year anyway.
