The music played and the gun shots followed.
On June 12 Omar Mateen opened fire inside Orlando’s Pulse Nightclub, leaving 50 people dead in the worst mass shooting in American history.
The attack on the gay club unfolded around 2am, with many club-goers mistaking the sounds of gunshots for firecrackers or part of the pulsating dance music.
President Obama has described the shooting as “an act of terror and hate.” And a chorus of Eurovision stars have joined him in outrage over the incident, which has stirred emotions among the Eurovision community and its many LGBT members.
Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala led the way, taking a swipe at Mateen and those who spill the blood of innocents. Quoting “1944” she said: “Humanity cries. You ….think you are Gods?”

@OR
You didn’t mean to say “young and silly”, did you?=)
I’m still sad that some painful topics are not more than PR here under the guise of grief…
It’s “my Russian’s IMHO”, of course.
Plum you are very young..:) that’s cool
@OR
I still cannot imagine it myself=) I am a bit over 40 and I’m still interested in various kind of things and my granddaughter is already 2.5. Cool=))
Plum Really ? Cool… I never could imagine that you are a grandmother:) Glorious i think wiwi deleated our previous comments (with the Turkish person ) becouse those comments become too political
@Vicky
Natalia from Russia. A mother of a grown up son and a grandmother of a charming granddaughter=)
@Plum
Vicky from Italy, mother of two wonderful kids and you?
@Vicky
I feel safe and I don’t find people or time terrible in general. Maybe it’s because I’m not involved in any social network=)
Who are you?
Its same with me Plum. may be a cyber attack. Today facebook has been down as well. It could be derived from same reasons. Oh terrible time and terrible people. I dont feel safe anymore, i am worrying through the time while that my kids been at the school thinking of them. Where is the humanity going? They kill each other because of a football match. That is obvious love will save the world. But when? Will my life be enough to see it? If not i will give my lastest breathe burried under the soil and will smile exactly-… Read more »
@Glorious=)) I’ll take a courage to explain what Maru fr meant though we are not familiar… You wrote: “Well, they should react but I don’t know why they don’t”. I think they shouldn’t and they mustn’t because it is impossible to react to everything that is happening in the world every day including the Russian plane death in Egypt this year though there were more than enough victims (hope the news is still available in Greece). I find this article, yes the above one, sorry to say it, hypocritical since from this year’s May 14th it is Jamala’s must to… Read more »
OK, since I can se my post I go on as if nothins happened…
Is there something whong with my computer or with me?
All today’s posts disappeared while I was composing my reply…
@Maru fr Don’t regret, you were right and I can’t make out where Iberian is now=)) @OR Of course I remember you fighting against Oxana and your warm words about Sergey’s personality. Sorry for my not answering about it at once. I’m a bit tired after job today=)) Oxana is a kind of fascist. Where is she by the way? @Bryan Thank you for the info. I didn’t know it about Lithuania though I am dealing with this country every day thanks job and I don’t have to discuss this topic. Neither I have to discuss it every day with… Read more »
@Bryan
Turkey is in a better situation than the countries you have mentioned. They don’t have any ‘anti’ law and they are having biggest pride in eastern europe. I am from Bulgaria and i ve been that pride.
+Plum
I already regret that I have answered her(him)… 🙁
Did you guys even know that Lithuania has the same anti-gay laws as Russia? And that gay people are being killed in Turkey very often and nobody is doing anything to protect them? Did you know that they can’t have a Gay Pride in Slovakia and Ukraine? Why is only Russia an issue? That’s what I don’t understand.
@OR
I see. Maru Fr in his first comment reacted to @Iberian’s provocative “Where is Sergey?” and I get his point. Sergey could be anywhere.
And starting from that point all discussion turned to “homophobic Russia” and Russians were made to find excuses for our artist though I see no need doing it since placing a state in instagram doesn’t mean anything.
The essense of the above article is in fact not about Russia.
R.I.P. to the victims.
Peace=))
@srat54
U can ask me about greece. I can tell you lots of things ive encountered there. I spent my last summer there with worst memories of my entire life
@srat54
I know very well about greece from last years summer, u can ask me. It was the worst days of my life i encountered rly bad things there.
@ESC84
I meant the chains history that treated gays as Mentally ill and try’d to Convert gays sexual orientation but its all in the past!!
@Plum Thanks for your comment, of course i never meant to all the Russians, and you are right you know better then me what’s really happening in Russia. I connect to your words because people around the world dont know what really happen in Israel as well and they Prejudice. I wrote before that i dont think the jury was fair to ignore Russia, also you remember that i answer to oxana when she always trying to offend the Russians here only because they are Russians?? @OR
What terrible history? Surely China do not encourage LGBT but we won’ t kill gay for someone just being gay…
@ESC84
I’m sorry to hear that i didn’t know that its so bad, all i can tell you is i hope it will change.. and you will not have to hide any more dont be ashamed of anything.. if your family have a good heart they will accept you eventually, and if they dont its their problem not yours ..
And come to visit Israel 🙂
@Glorious
It was “hedgehogs”, I just misprinted the word.
I told you some time ago that my English leaves much to be desired=))
@ESC84 Sorry i read again your comment and now i understand 🙂 The thing about families is not a special phenomenon who exists only in China unfortunately a lot of families in other countries do not except their gay child (its their loos) , but at least the Chinese law permits homosexual relations…. it is a progress compared to the terrible history that China have on that topic…. I really hope that you can be open some day soon.. i hope the LGBT community in China are fighting for their rights like in Israel they always do… By the way… Read more »
@OR I replied to you a couple of hours ago but I cannot find my comment here. Ok, I’l try to recollect it. Of course I cannot deny that things happen in Russia. I’ve told you earlier today that I am awave of what happened to Hovi in Russian airport. It’s really disgusting and I feel shame for my compatriots whom I don’t know.. But these things may happen in any country disregarding whether there is anti-gay law or not. There is no law of this kind in the USA but… Unfortunately rascals exist in any country but people like… Read more »

Unfortunately, I haven’t heard something positive about Russia since a long time ago. Maybe you can tell me since I don’t have any Russian friends and you know more. I would like to visit your country in the future, I’m sure there are beautiful attractions there. But what is a hagehon?
@Glorious Ok, I checked it out. I’d like to ask you if you’ve managed to read anything positive abour Russia within the latest couple of years. I’m sure you haven’t. Russians are spending all their time insulting gays, killing Ukranians, eating children, vivisecting hagehons and etc.and etc… And not a single good thing about this country. Instead of unconditionally believe all anti-Russian propaganda you could try to communicate with Russians without prejudice for a change and maybe even visit Russia. I am sure nothing bad will happen to you here but you will get to know something new and different… Read more »
@OR
it is surely better but it still considered bad if you are gay.
@OR
If you come out, you fail your family expectation, they thought you make bad reputation of the family. Neighbour talk bad things of you and your family, your parents feel it is your fault that the family is being mocked by the neighbour. You family won’ t agree that you are gay, Although they won’ t bring you to a hosipital to cure your sexual orientation, they will treat you like you are not here( the identity of being a LGBT), they treat you like you never come out and are still straight.
@OR
It is very hard to make a LGBT movie nowadays in China, even a film is made. It might not be able to play in cinema, or the govenment will cut most of the scenes. In this case, it is not different to Russia except (Russian make a law and China did not but still carry out a hidden law)
@ESC84
I dont understand your comment , what do you mean “prepare to break apart”?
So you are not gay? i didn’t know that its so hard for LGBT to live in china.. because i thought that since Homosexuality became legal in china ( in 1997) things become better
And from my experience, I will have to say that unfortunately there are many narrow minded people here. But of course Greece is a better place for LGBT people than many countries (Turkey, Russia, etc.).
@OR
Is it legal? It is not illegal but is not supported by the govenment i would say. If you came out in China, just prepare to break apart with your family.
If you go to China, Chengdu to China is like San Francisco to USA( but obviously not as open as the US). Sightseeing would be Hangzhou.
No, i am not. I just told my very best friend.
You can learn everything here:

Attitudes to the lgbt people and about marriage status. Is it probable accepting marriage law? How is the latest situation about that issue?

Nice 🙂 i always wanted to visit China
But Homosexuality is legal in China, So you openly gay ?
@srat54
What exactly would you like to learn about?
Glorious are you from Greece? I wanna have some info about attitudes and people in Greece?
@OR
HONG KONG
ESC84 i thought you live in Russia..where do you live then?
@Plum
Sorry for using “he” .. i will adjust it next time
@OR
I hope so… I always want to visit Russia
@ESC84
Thanks for your comment.. i hope things will get better FOR the LGBT community in Russia
@Plum
The same happens here in Greece but it’s not only Wikipedia. Check this out:
http://www.themoscowtimes.com/news/article/poll-shows-russian-attitudes-to-gay-people-are-worse-than-decade-ago/525429.html
@Glorious
Wikipedia is widely used in Russia But is not considered as a reliable and teputable info source. Is it in Greece?
@ ESC84
Thank you for your support, we badly need it here.
I am “she” if something, my name is Natalia?
**but some of their cultures
@OR I guess what he is trying to say is Russia is not a gay paradise, but it is not as harsh as some country that would put gays to death. In my opinion, most country in the world is not that open-minded. It is a blessng for you that you are among one of those countries(Israel). But people like me or the Russians are living in a harder environment. And it is not right just put Russia in the spot to blame(homophobia) Russia, is a mix of East and West.
