In Stockholm earlier this year, Donny Montell beat his 2012 placing and gave Lithuania its second-best Eurovision result with “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night”. He now has a new single “Fly”, and the video sees Donny return to the lucky city of Stockholm.
The music video was directed and choreographed by the Swedish artistic director Sacha-Jean Bapsite, who also directed the “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” music video, and directed and choreographed the Eurovision staging for both Lithuania and Cyprus. She’s a busy woman!
Like the “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” video, “Fly” was also shot in Stockholm and contains some locations that may be familiar to those who recently visited.
Dancing to the upbeat soul-influenced pop of “Fly”, Donny and his dancers can be found busting some moves in the big square at Sergels Torg.
Donny and his friends move to other locations, showing an edgy side to urban Stockholm. He also makes an appearance in the square right between Globen Arena and the building used as the Eurovision press centre. And while it doesn’t quite have the same feeling as it had in May, Donny still brings a cool energy.
Eurovision fans will also note that Donny has a new hairstyle. The wild poodle curls of “I’ve Been Waiting For This Night” have been trimmed, giving him a shorter cropped style. He’s also wearing a leather jacket decorated with graffiti styles that he wore during one of the rehearsals in Stockholm before settling on the white jacket.
