Martin Fitch — the artist formerly known as Marcin Mrozinski — has just dropped the music video for his feel-good track “You and I”. Fans of his Polish-language music will recognise the video as it’s the visual translation from his earlier Polish release “Dzieli Nas“, which he released in April.

“You and I” is the first international single from Poland’s Eurovision 2010 singer since he moved to London from Warsaw, and it offers the first glimpse of his forthcoming and untitled album, which is scheduled for November.

Speaking exclusively to wiwibloggs, Martin explained the inspiration behind the track.

One day I was watching the news and I got completely shocked by how much hate is in the world… how people treat each other and how much they exclude others. Our look, race, sexuality, beliefs are getting far more attention than who we actually are. This video is my own artistic protest against excluding others and about any kind of –phobias: Islamophobia, racism, homophobia. I find it disgusting. My video is a call for respect and love. I believe that music should bring joy, but also should talk about important matters, such as how we treat each other, how much we allow the language of ‘hate’ to exist in our daily routines. I believe that this is one of the most important topics right now.

In keeping with the theme of the song, Martin invited London-based people from all walks to star in his self-directed video. There are also scenes from the half-marathon in Silverstone, and moving images of Oxford Street and London’s Chinatown, which loosely tie in with the Eurovision 2016 theme of coming together.

wiwiblogger William caught up with Martin — who placed third in our search for Eurovision’s Next Top Male Model 2010 — at the London Eurovision Party in 2014. They talked about his Eurovision performance, his big move to London to pursue his stage dreams and much, much more!

Are you loving Martin’s new sound? Will you be the I in “You and I”? Let us know in the comments box below!

YOU AND I (LYRICS)
we change in our lives
but hope will never die
that you’re the only one

if i had any choice
if i could make time stop
it would be right now

i believe that you’re sent from heaven
i believe that you‘ll stay with me
i believe you’ll be mine forever
i belive…

you, you and i
you and i will be always together
‘till the end of our lives,
you and i ‘till the end of our lives

i am not ashamed
i won’t deny it
i lost myself in you

i believe you are made from diamonds
i belive you were made for me
i believe, i believe you make me shine
i believe…

you, you and i
you and i will be always together
‘till the end of our lives,
you and i ‘till the end of our lives

I was having a bad day. So this kind of cheered me up. Yeah it’s a bit tacky. But it cheered me up and now I’m going to listen to it again. 🙂
