Eurovision 2016 winner Jamala returned to the city of her victory, when she performed her winning song “1944” on the singalong show Allsång på Skansen. Taking command of Stockholm’s famous Skansen stage, the Ukraine diva delivered all the emotional intensity from her Eurovision performance.

Jamala – “1944”

Wearing long dramatic robes, Jamala performed her song with the Allsång live band, bringing extra dimensions to the sound. As she took to the Skansen catwalk, the Globe arena could be seen in the distance, glowing in the setting sun.

While this week’s episode of Allsång på Skansen was in a festive mood to celebrate Stockholm Pride, the audience were captivated by Jamala’s performance, giving the Eurovision winner the respect she’s earned.

Jamala also stopped by the Swedish morning show Nyhetsmorgon, where she talked about her Eurovision win, returning to Stockholm, and her involvement with supporting the recent Kyiv Pride march.

Sanna Nielsen – “I’m Coming Out”

Wearing a silver wrap dress, show host Sanna Nielsen channelled her inner disco diva with a performance of the classic anthem “I’m Coming Out”. Pride flags were waved in the audience, rainbow lights surrounded the stage, and the audience was fully in the mood for celebrating Stockholm Pride. Jamala even joined the festivities, dancing on the stage in her robes, waving a sunflower.

@MTD – I agree with you.

Such a pity how Wiwibloggs write some of their articles. At the best, it’s a good news / site blog. But this factor indeed drags the overall impression a lot down for me. I wish they could be more inclusive. ESC is for all kinds of people, not for a specific target audience. The site would benefit a lot from more balanced journalism.

@Clyde – in Wiwiland, everything is gay. Everything related to ESC “must” be gay. And that is how ESC is perceived by many outside the “camp” which is really, really sad.

Many of us hope for a (please) change when it comes to that from the editors in the future. When you read this, the reader might get the impression that Allsang is some sort of “gay show”. It’s been a huge tradition here in Sweden for many decades. A popular festive event, for all kinds of people. What might be worth noticing, aside from Jamala in… Read more »

What about After Dark, they should have sang “Kom ut som en stjärna”. Perfect for Pride!

Great interview, thanks Jamala, what a great person she is, she seems to be sincere and authentic, I’m happy she won, I mean, her performance together with the song, the whole package, was fantastic, but seeing her in interviews likes these makes me feel even happier she won. Great person with a fabulous attitude.
